Finally made a friggin decision about hair and got the cheaper version. So that's.. -counts- $120 cheaper. 8D I'm excited for it to come in the mail. NOW my issue is finding some good ears to use. Twilight Princess ears are of a slightly different shape than OoT or WW. And the ones I am in love with were handmade and the creator won't sell anyone a pair. xC Sooo.. what to do? I need linkage! (No pun intended) Every site is going to have the standard woochies. Must have something nice.

awww you flatter me, but in all honesty I am in no condition to be taking commissions..I haven't been sewing for very long, I'm still a MAJOR beginner and there are many flaws that I'm hiding in this dress.

my miki wig is getting quite the make over. I realized that her color scheme is mroe navyblue/peach than navyblue/orange
I went and hunted down the correct color
luckily every thing I needed was in fabric depots clearance sale. its the only thing I love about that store.
Got stretchy peach colored and navy blue material
Now I can make my gloves and socks too! :3

The coat looks awesome!

I'm hopefully ordered my gloves for Athena this week. I found a pair on Amazon that were cheap, but they sold out before I could order them. Only one pair is in stock now and I'm having my dad order them since he gets stuff on Amazon a lot and wouldn't have to pay shipping.

*nods* Um, I'm gathering the fabric for a Hobbes plushie, which is kinda a lot more straightforward than I'da guessed because there's lots of spare fabric in the basement. I kinda wish Kumoricon happened a little while into school starting, 'cause then I'd have the stagecraft room... but oh, well. *shrug*
Clothes are gonna be super, super easy, so I'm not really fussed.

I'm assuming you're gonna do Man-Chi again? ^_^ You've got a secret admirer in a costume designer friend of mine. I'll see if I can get her to sketch up a suitably Chi-esque dress for you - if you're up for it (and if she's not a lazy jerk,) she'll bug you for measurements in a week or so. She may even have one sitting around somewhere that'd fit you, she's done dresses for a couple of guys in our class... long story.

Hobbes plushie is gonna be fantastic. I have an evil plan involving the brutal murder of several innocent dollar-store teddy bears, some velvet leggings, a white sock and the orange pants from my friend's old Naruto cosplay. Muahaha.

ok so question regarding yuna's earring (here's a picture if you don't know what i'm talking about: http://static.desktopnexus.com/thumbnails/372012-bigthumbnail.jpg )
since my holes have closed up (again) and i don't think that i'll be heading to the mall anytime soon to repierce them and they'll be healed by kcon to wear an earring and clip-ons make my ears hurt, do you think it would be possible to connect the earring someway to the wig behind my ear?

if so, suggestions please

Couldn't you use some string or say fishing line, create a loop, and just like, hang it off your ear? I dunno. I'm not really sure if that's what you're asking. xD

Actually, what I recommend is to make a sort of ear hook thing. Like this http://www.ivyvinestudios.com/vp/JS-Lib/CustomerSites/Common/view_larger.htm?src=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ivyvinestudios.com%2F666_500_csupload_20017135.jpg%3Fu%3D634138837641471250 (It's sitting kinda funny since on a person it would slide behind the ear and on the manikin thing it cannot) I'd attach the short dangley things to the top part of the hook, just bring them down some so they hang at about the right place, and attach the large bit to the bottom hook. That should even the weight out and keep it from sliding off.
You'd want to make everything except the wire from really light materials so it's not uncomfortable. The wire could stand to be a little heavier so it doesn't bend were you don't want it to.
It may not be as secure as sewing it into the wig, but I'm always hesitant to do anything more then I absolutely have to do to my wigs.
My other suggestion would be to fashion some sort of hair piece that you can clip in. But again, I really don't like messing with wigs to much.

What a great cross! Is that acrylic or fabric paint? I noticed my fabric paint bled through and I had to let it dry hanging up so it wouldn't get stuck to something under it - now I have paint on my keyboard's speakers.

As for my progress I'm working on a kinda surprise cosplay, cause I'm not sure I'll get it done... I've gotten the hardest parts done so far though- the gloves and pants!

I just have to assemble the gloves, waiting for the glue to dry right now, and then make a belt for the pants to go over the top elastic. I hate making pants now btw.. lol

Neither, it's screenprinting textile ink. It's got a more ink-like consistency as compared to acrylic or fabric paint.

Cut out and pinned the stuff for the jacket, not sure if I have enough trim. still need to get the buttons. I also drew and cut out the stuff for the headband and belt. I gotta get something better for the headband though >>; I don't think the foam idea'll work.

Sent the info to the guy I'm commissioning my Synchronicity Miku Staff from. Now just to wait for him to get a draft done xD And waiting for my costume to come in the mail xP

Also starting on a new Cosplay! Shiny Ninetails Gijinka. So far I've gotten a white sundress, gloves and the fabric for the tails. I still need to find some fake fur for the ears and a collar type thing... Also some cool (temperature wise xD don't want to overheat) fabric for my leggings/boot-covers. But It'll be my first cosplay I made and not bought so I'm excited <333

I love my scarf so much. One more cross left to do and then I can seal up both ends with some sparkly gold bias tape.

Still have to pattern the cuffs, my last pattern looks more like the main body of a wimple and Vaclav is not a nun.
