AUGH. Son of a waffle.

Said friend is in Ireland 'till the fifteenth of August, and doesn't think she can work anything out in that time. I need friends who aren't flakes. Erm... in terms of dresses, Reppy, your best bet is probably a thrift store where they sell vintage gowns. (The Better Bargains on Sandy comes immediately to mind.) They can be surprisingly inexpensive and often as elegant as something Chi would wear. Where'd you get your dress from last year? It was really well-made.

Worked out a pattern for Hobbes. Came to the conclusion that I'd feel like an idiot if I didn't have clothes that didn't match Calvin's - to the Goodwill we go! Also, this gives me a good excuse to get a chest binder, which I've wanted for a few years. *shrug*

CLAP: Why not try elastic or take the seam at the butt with the pants inside out and pin them how ever much in you need and sew that without cutting out the original seams or fabric incase you need to let them out.... That's what I'd think to do.

Well I finished the gloves the other night and finished 90% of the jacket tonight. I just have the trim to put on, hopefully I have enough, and then I gotta find something for the buttons. My only whine about not having enough trim is the gloves alone took almost 4 freaking yards >>

I have to go to Beaverton for that. o____o
But it's well worth it!
I'll have pictures of the dress soon enough!

I ordered my wig and it should been here around August 12.
Since they are making it buy hand.

Gonna finish my scarf today and see about making the cuffs, and if I can get all that done I'll attach the sleeves by tonight and maybe put the zipper in the front of my vestments so they no longer hang funny. And then I'll have nominal progress :3

Her prices were pretty fair, the free shipping wins, and the

Oh I'm planning on getting that wig/a similar one sometime! Where did you get your's?

So today I also fixed up my Athena headband, since the old one was badly glued together with raw edges showing and all that bad stuff.

The gloves are mixed martial arts fighting gloves. They're not 100% accurate, since Athena has bizarre fighting gloves that just look like regular fingerless gloves, but I do like them. I feel more like a fighter.

Also, Haley! I got the wig on by myself!

Some parts were showing in the back, but I think with some more enormous hair clips and a wig cap, we'll be in business~

I actually just put it in two ponytails, one on the top of my head and the other just above my neck, and then I tucked the showing hair into the wig. Obviously once I get a nice wig cap my hair will stay in nicely, but I actually got this on well! I was surprised. Also lol there were still pins left in the wig from Sakuracon haha.

YESSS. When are you back at your mom's? Oh we could do Lloyd Center and then go and have the sleepover!

Monday I'm back at mom's and then that weekend I am. I'm not sure if I'm going to have to work at all next week, and I'm not sure when I have drivers ed, cause I lost my schedule xD

Update for moi~

almost done with the jacket. bought and painted the buttons, debating if i want to take brown to them too... Finished all of it's devil trim though, and got better matching ribbon.
I also got more white fabric for the headband and belt. Started on the belt sewing and trim, and finished the headband other than ironing it and sewing on the elastic band~

After all this all I'll have to do is think up something for the boots and then something for the sword if I do that.

Having already made the skirt and halter top and earrings for Vanille today, in addition to having completed Vanille wig and Yuna earrings a few weeks ago, I'm currently in the process of patterning the sleeves for Yuna, sewing the skirt (also Yuna), and creating the obi (Yuna again).

Oh, and I'm working on adjusting the collar for my Craig cosplay. It's red right now, but it needs to be black.

Ordered some pretty sweet looking golden/brown contacts from pinkyparadise after much help from the bro's on the Baccano board. Should be awhile until they come in, but I'll post pics as soon as they do. I'm ready for more accurate lenses than my previous brown ones for Sakuracon. =]

I'm almost done with my costume!! I just have to find the undershirt for it and then I'm good. *excited happy bounce* Just waiting for glue and paint to dry right now before I can put on the last layer of paint and then assemble it.

Vaclav has passed the 30% completion mark! I really ought to make his capey-bit so it's out of the way and I can have something to attach armor to.

But blargh, bias tape and patterning.

At least my sleeves managed to make it into the garment itself with no major problems beyond some ease!

Super excited to see it! I also got new pants. I think I'm going to dull down the pinstripes a bit since they're really noticeable. Sharpies don't fail me now!
