I spent the entire day working on cosplay. =D Here's what I got done today~

Made Koffing's fan and added the symbol to the kimono:


Sewed the tube-top for Koffing:


Altered Terra's shirt:


And made Terra's belt pouches:


I also sewed Tuxedo Mask's cape, but I didn't get a pic. D: But I'm almost done! :3

It fits like....perfectly, AND THE DETAIL. Ahhhh~~!
The gold parts are kind of breaking a little, and the jewels keep falling off, BUT THAT'S NOTHING A LITTLE HOT GLUE CAN'T FIX. xD

Shay, if the jewels are going onto a spraypainted surface hot glue won't stick to it. Hot glue and spraypaint are non-mixy substances.

Use E6000. It's a permanent industrial strength glue available at Walmart in the glue section of the craft aisles. It's what I'm using to hold together a good portion of my armor and strandy bits for Vaclav.

Superglue by all means should work, though you ought to be careful because you never know what it might do to the gems or the paint.

E6000 is pretty much what most armor costumers use. I know a ton of people in the 501st use it on their armor. I've used it on a few things on mine, it works wonders.

what kind of material did you use? Katie is using some shiny kind of fabric for DWC, and we tested it with pictures. It was only too shiney in direct sunlight and with flash. It looks like in the pic you took, there is direct light from your window, so that may be why. I cant remember what the fabric is called that Katie used, but if its the same, I would recognise the name.

It's a little shiny, yeah, but I'm also not advocating the use of twill on a dress like that either. I think something like taffeta would be nice for a dress like that, or maybe Casa Satin.

The skirt looks fine, Dana, it's shiny but I can tell it's good shiny and not gross costume satin shiny.

I used Casa satin, like Haley and Richie said, and it looks cheap in the wrong light, but generally it looks fine.

I personally wouldn't have used any type of fabric that has any sort of shine to it.....but that's just my personal taste.
If you think the dress should be made with satin, then go for it. It's just that looking at the artwork, I personally never would have even thought to use Satin

anyways, do what makes you happy! If you like it, keep it. I'm sure it probably looks much better in real life.

@ Dana: You and me both. I just hope it doesn't fall apart while I'm wearing it because oh my god this is going to be the heaviest costume ever. Without armor or grommets the cloak is pushing four pounds. I don't even want to know how much it will weigh after putting all that on it.

Just did a makeup test for Vaclav and did a fairly cool job of it, but oh my god it's gonna be crazy getting all that makeup off at the end of the day. I make a pretty passable man with fake stubble, and hopefully even more so when I actually have extra hair to use as my goatee on top of makeup 5 o'clock shadow.

Naw, I have to be up at like 6:30AM anyway to get ready so I can be down at the cosplay contest tech rehearsal like an hour before I meet you. I won't bring the entire cosplay down to the tech rehearsal, but it'll easily take me anywhere from 45min to an hour and a quarter to put all my makeup and basic stuff on. I will be totally fine. I'll be sweltering, but totally fine.

I got my lovely Angelus leather paint in the mail today so I'll be able to finish up my Marie shoes and make my Miaka shoes look less crap-tastic. =]

Also got my badge in the mail today, so that should motivate me to start making more progress!!!

My cosplays:
Yuna (Final Fantasy X)
-Extended Obi flower dangles
Roxas (Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days)
-Working on the robe. I need to add the sleeves, buy lining, order the giant zipper, and add the little accessories and hem the darn thing and it's done.
-I have the pattern for the gloves, just need some fabric
Tsunade (Naruto)
-Started making Tonton today Tsunade needs a prop too lol

PaperSora's cosplays:
Rikku (Final Fantasy X)
-Started the shirt, have to sew the sides together (after I buy zippers and the buckles), add the blue flow-ee things on her back (after i get fabric), add the color, and hem
-Bought the pattern and the fabric needed for the shorts

-Salvaged the wig successfully!
-Started the surprise

It's not amazing. It's actually a picture of Miaka when she's flinching as if she's about to get hit. she's got this agonized look on her face. Ahahaha. If you still want it, that's fine. If not, that's cool, too.

I've got a cel of Cardcaptor Sakura as well. It's pretty cute. Shaolin's got his arms crossed, Sakura's looking mildly excited about something, and Mei Lin's listening or something like that. Sakura's lines are really degrading pretty badly, but other than that it's in pretty good shape.

Vampirefangs, you interested in that one?

And to stay on topic: I HAVE MADE SAILOR MOON PANTIES. Well. Almost. Got a few bugs to work out. It's the underneath of the skirt. I had perfectly cut 1/8th yard strips of yellow fabric for the skirt stripes when I realized I cut the fabric the wrong way and made perfectly wide short strips.

And I almost finished Kaito's shirt. Just have to do the designs and straps. Kaito's wig (the 2nd one) was confirmed shipping
