Window paint...must look into this. I've looked for sheilds online, but I can't seem to find any pure black ones. Also, my helmet is pretty old and I'm fairly certain that I wouldn't be able to find any shields for it ;o;

Hmmm, they might have them at a sporting goods store, or a place that sells motorcycles and helmets. Have you tried your helmet's brand website? oh yeah, its harder to find them for older ones.

Well my computer's power button picked a perfectly horrendous time to go belly-up like the lily-livered coward it is, so no more progress pictures until it's fixed which means y'all probably won't be seeing a finished Vaclav until con. Same deal with Sheryl and Ukitake's sealed Sogyo no Kotowari.

In fact, I'm posting from my phone so my verboseness is a might bit limited by the very small size of my keyboard. I'll be lurking the progress thread but that's about it.

Oh, and I got Vaclav's gloves in the mail today but it's kinda pointless for me to work on them now since I'm stuck in Sun River with no sewing implements. Oh, and forgive any errors in spelling, as I have explained I'm typing on a very small keyboard with rather large thumbs.

Here's my progress of costumes for the con~

Yoko: 90% - Just need the bracelets and to finish the belt. =D

Simon: 98% - Just need to get some sunglasses~ Whoot whoot!

Nia: 50% - Final fitting on the skirt today, finishing top stiching on the top, and the making the jewelry... yay...

Kamina: 10% - Only half of the cape is done so far...

Mion: 80% - Just need a vest. =D

Sheryl (Lion Version): 99% - All that's left for me to do sewing wise is a few eyelets, which I think I'll just make my friend who's wearing it do~

It's not amazing. It's actually a picture of Miaka when she's flinching as if she's about to get hit. she's got this agonized look on her face. Ahahaha. If you still want it, that's fine. If not, that's cool, too.

That's a gorgeous mask...you did a great job! Some of the paint looks a little faded/too light in the left part by the nose though. Or maybe that's just my eyes playing tricks on me. xD

There isn't going to be a masquerade this year, probably only the rave.
However, the Ouran Club is looking to take over a dance instead of the tea party but as far as a masquerade...it probably won't be.

And I don't like how they turned out but oh well... They'll be covered by the skirt wrap...

This looks really nice so far but just a quick suggestion- Celty's "ears" aren't supposed to resemble cat ears so vividly. They're designed as an exhaust not an accessory. Try making them a bit more pointed maybe? It looks great though

That was the masquerade ball. Ouran might be taking it over and changing it.

That was the masquerade ball. Ouran might be taking it over and changing it.

That's a for sure thing this year. The ball is no longer masked, but still formal. There is a group of "Hosts," some Ouran cosplayers and some not. They will be guiding the dance and dancing with wallflowers.

The masks created lots of problems for the staff, and the attendees. There were issues like yours, with hand held masks, and there were people not being admitted because they didn't have masks. Also, the room was very warm with all the people and masks became hot and itchy.

Well... I'd say I'm about 85% done with Jill Valentine... just the last few odds and ends that I don't want to attend to xD Because I am lazy.

-Add five black panels to the jacket and pull in the sides so it's more skin tight
-Paint the first aid spray bottle and flash grenade
-Repaint the baseball cap
-Buy white skinny jeans 

And done!

Just ordered my Gi for Makoto, an extra black wig for my boyfriend, a Bokken for his Scott Pilgrim Cosplay and some boots for my Curly Brace cosplay.

Scott Pilgrim is almost done. The wig is cut and just needs to be styled a bit in the back (do any of my bros near me own a curling iron :\). The bokken I ordered is going to be the sword of love. It just needs to be spray painted, wrapped with bandages, and have a heart put on the end when it gets here (Yay gay swords!)

Not much homework this weekend because it's the week after midterms (yay breaks~) I'm hoping to at least get Ramona's purse and belt done. If I'm really lucky I'll get started on the hammer and jacket as well. But yeah, Ramona is just purse, belt, hammer, jacket and that's good.

Makoto will be easy as soon as all of my stuff gets here, I just need to tint the gi, sew patches on the knees, style the wig, and get the red undershirt made (it's going to double as my Curly Brace shirt).

Miria is 100% done. Issac is mostly done. I'm leaving gun holsters as "If I really have time" kind of thing. Hopefully I do.

The only costumes I'm really worried about are Quote and Curly and it's mostly the guns. Quote has his wig, pants, and boots. We need to get a kerchief for him and buy and decorate him a hat. Curly has...a wig and gloves.... boots on the way. I need to make the shirt and pants still. And I also have to make robot ears for both my boyfriend and I. I want to make them really cool, and light up. But that doesn't look like it'll be happening this time.

Think I'm gonna style Makotos wig tonight, and make my boyfriend work on Ramonas belt.

  I'm having a rough time on this end. I just got the yellow stripe on the bottom of my skirt for Super Sailor Moon, and it's all puckery. I don't think there's much I can do about this other than cutting out curved yellow circles the same pattern and size as my circle skirt. Maybe it'll be better once I iron it with fabric stiffener.

I'm proud of myself, but it looks kind of icky.

Got quite a bit done today, I am pleased :3 I pretty much finished my Luka (Magnet) dress, I just need to add the white band and fix the halter top, since I made it a bit too small orz. But it looks pretty good for being made in a single night. I also started sanding my Celty helmet. It's more difficult than I expected ffff. I tried my best to get the ears more pointy, but failed ;3;. They're staying round, because I am NOT going to rip them off and start over, no sir  .

I got all my work done on Kuja yesterday. I am going to work a little more on my marowak skull and I am still waiting on my Saix wig then those costumes will be done. All in all not a whole lot left

I was thinking of using shatterproof plastic Christmas ornaments, but I can't seem to find any online store that sells them to retail customers. I'm gonna hang what ever I use on fishing line, so it can't be super heavy...

I finally figured out and finished Canada's ahoge! I'd post a piccie but maybe after I layer and dye the ends of the wig. But yeah, it's kinda limp and frizzy but I'm pretty proud of it, being my first ahoge I've ever constructed. :'3

Small Bomb-

Could you use flexible shower head cord instead? The removable shower head in my bathroom has this metal cord that connects it to the wall. It's got little ridges in it  where a lip of an ornament or something could fit into. It doesn't fold well, but it bends into long curves beautifully. That way you could use something heavier. This suggestion is a little far-fetched though.

Michaels sells large styrofoam balls. Cover those in some light air dry clay and you're good. I think there's this stuff called Paperclay that dries pretty fast and is super light. It's easily sandable, too. I used it once when I made a Sailor Moon wand when I was young and loved it. The only drawback is you'll need a lot and it's pretty expensive, too. Not to mention the price of the styrofoam balls on top of that.

I too need some advice since I'm not quite sure what I could do about something. I'm going to need a crowbar, since one of the characters I'm cosplaying used one, and I KNOW that real metal crowbars aren't allowed at the con. Any suggestions on how I can make one/find one con-appropriate?

So originally I was gonna to con. Then I decided not to. Now I'm going for a day.

And with that one day I decided to be Maria from Arakawa under the bridge because I fell in love with her. :3 And I had mostly everything at the time I first watched it. I just recently got fabric to make her apron so that should be done soon. Then all I'll need is a bandana/handkerchief and some sort of weaponry/knife. Fake of course.

And I'm about 50-60% done with Akaito for Paprika, I just temporarily lost one piece. I'll find it eventually. Or just come up with a solution in the end. XD

Okay after about two hours I'm almost done with Meiko's bloomers. They're a bit shorter than I meant to make them, but I think I'll just shorten the skirt a bit to show the bloomers more.
