we tried this in french class often. We wanted to have a surprise-partir, not a surprise-parti! Surprise-leaving, not party.

Another French one is a verlan, an inverse of a word. Beurre, which means butter, but is the reverse of Arab. I had thought they meant butter was an Arabic word for years until just a few years ago. duh.
