It's not the carving you have to be good at, it's having someone that has the tools you need. To make weapons like keyblades, just gotta have this block of wood that can make two keyblades for 20 bucks [pay up to 50 bucks to make up to 6 keyblades], a jigsaw [$40 cheapest one time buy], some clamps [10 ish for each], and sand paper. From there it's scale the picture [I'm lazy so I bring it to Kinkos and blow it up to scale], cut it out, trace it with something, cut along trace lines, sand, paint, done.
