aww there's already a Steiner and Beatrix (FFIX) coming? That's what my BF and I are going to be. Well, the more the merrier.

(edit: we're only just now staring construction so there's a chance the costumes won't debut until next Sakura con. We're not going to let these ones be rush jobs like some past ventures)

(more edit: I'm so happy to hear that there are so many IX cosplayers ^^ My BF and I are in the early stages of planing a "Slew of love letters" skit for next Sakura con. Anyone interested?)

oh that's too bad. Well, more incentive for us to be awesome though. Our Steiner is going to be mostly cardboard lol. we thought about using more advanced materials like craft foam and styrene (sp?) but we don't exactly have a lot of money and we can get cardboard for free from my BF's work.

thanks. I have done some pretty cool things w/ cardboard and paper machet in the past and I'm super excited to try tackling a full suit of armor. We plan to put a lot of detail in it; make it as acurate as posable. We want to enter the end results in the contest for the first time ever (for either of us).

thanks, like i said we might not finish them until next Sakura con, but we'll try our darndest

we start construction on the armor next weekend when I drive down to see him. We'll work on cardboard elements at his house (he has the cardboard) and fabric at mine (I have the good sewing machien.... and the ability to use it lol) which works perfectly as his costume is mostly cardboard and mine is mostly fabric.

I'd say be regular Zidane for the FF photoshoot... unless Elixir Fix is having a photoshoot seperate from the main FF one. Because if so, be whatever. If Elixir Fix is doing the FFIX shoot at the same time, then I'll be dress Garnet. If not, I'll be regular/cloak Garnet.

Oh wow... Never mind! Right as I was looking for my camera to get pictures my friend - who's being Serah - came in and gave the wig styling a shot and it actually came out fairly well! C:

Does anyone know where you can buy (fake) chain-mail in the Portland area? ie a good costume shop.
