Oh yeah, you don't want to use an electronic mixer, that will introduce way too much air into it and that's a bad thing.

I bought a gallon of it and have used almost all of it, this pistol mold took up a over half of it. Don't really remember what it cost. I think like $75? Pretty expensive, but it is good stuff. It's just the big mold that killed me

Also FFFF I forgot to take pictures of my cast before I started cleaning it up. It was pretty ugly too, haha.The mold release I bought isn't working all that well (used to keep the two halves of the mold seperate) so I'm going to have to find something that works better. Having to cut the mold to get the original out is super annoying and not a very good way of doing things.

Yeah, it can get expensive. Luckily the actual resin will last a lot longer since I need a whole lot less of that for each cast.

And yeah, the molds can be reused. I used the magazine mold for 2 mags, will probably end up making a few more after I clean up the mold after AX.

I'm on a budget but I've kind of been realizing that I want a group to cosplay with... it's just not the same going solo and she's really grown on me. Lol.

I think it would depend a lot on whether you'd be making the stuff yourself. The jacket, the pouches, the pants, gloves. Maybe the elbow pads too? The boots you can probably find just by thrifting, though it could take a while to find 'em.

The rifle could potentially be the most expensive part, depending on how it is made. Now that I'm home from AX I'm going to mess around with my rifle and test out options. Like I said on facebook I don't mind helping you as much as I am able. Still new to the whole prop building thing myself too

Hey Anthony, I wanna resin cast a small blade (kitchen knife size) but I don't wanna pay a bunch of money that I don't have for more material than I need. Could ya help me? I can rustle up some cash to pay for what I use if ya like.

You're the only person I know who is working with mold AND resin casting.

Meanwhile, I'm exciiiiiiiiiited that we may have a Sniper Wolf again~! =D

Realized I left my sunglasses at a friends house down in LA though, oops!

And hmm, I wonder how well a mold of a knife would come out. It could be worth testing, but because it is so thin I am not sure how well it'd work, at least with the stuff I have. I can always test it on something small and thin to see what happens.

I still need to buy more of the RTV for the molds before I can do a whole lot more either way though.

Dang, good point. What I'm aiming for is a blade that will light up from a l.e.d I'm gonna put in the handle I'm making. Well, if ya can run a test that'd be amazing. =) Otherwise I'll have to brainstorm another way to make a translucent blade...

Ohh translucent..I can't do that with the stuff I have as mine dries to an off white color. With that kind of thing, the best way to do it would probably be something like wonderflex or even clear acrylic

EDIT: So Baccano, and subsequently Cave Story, have been decided for days! Sunday (Day 2) is Cave Story and Monday (Day 3) is Baccano with a photoshoot at 11am followed by an Italian lunch. That leaves Saturday (Day 1) for Metal Gear Solid. Sound cool?

And of course Scott Pilgrim is gonna be Friday.

Ahh, well if you come up with something let me know. I'm interested in what you can come up with.

And I know..maybe sometime this week minus the sunglasses. Maybe even tomorrow (or later today..) depending on how I feel when I get home from PDXLAN.

Also..Saturday would probably be fine with me. Later in the day would probably be best for that since I'll most likely be busy with staff stuff earlier in the day.

@Rhe: what do you want to do about your guns? I can't find any places with semi cheap desert eagle airsoft guns (to make the mold out of) in stock online. Do you want to go with just one or are you going to make the holster on her left leg too? This reminds me I need to buy more of the rtv for the molds.

I really need to get working on my rifle. I think I am just going to cut up the airsoft gun and use parts of it together with like wood or something, just so I can still have the functioning stock and magazine thing.

So Laser tag... the girl taking my day forgot, and went to the beach with her family... I'm a little mad. I have one person I can ask to take my Saturday, but not sure she'll do it. wish my luck!

Oh, and every thing for Meryl will be arriving next weekish. A friend is making me a real bullet earing for me! And I'm having a sewing party this monday to make her shirt. :3 anyone may attend the sewing party.

So, that wig ya gave me Anthony - I couldn't get it to flip in the back. Sad. But then I tried letting my hair out at the bottom (since it naturally does that pesky flippy thing) and TA-DAAAAAAA~ Otacon hair is mine! Now to grow facial hair.

... That was a joke, sadly.

Still working on his jacket (caved and I'm making it 'cause I really don't like that ol' coat I was using) ~~and eventually here I'll start work on MGRex~~. Not lookin' like that's gonna happen. Maybe another con.
