Yea, that was tons of fun. As for getting wet... it's my mom's fault for telling me I'd get too hot in my pea coat :P

Hope to see you all next time as well!! <3

I'm sad I didn't get to go but I had fun on the drive yesterday all the same! We had beautiful weather until we stopped for lunch when it started to rain then the whole drive back we kept driving through some rain storms. But came home to sunny weather.

(We drove the Aufderheide. It starts some where near Eugene and we ended in Oakridge)
2011:
Larxene 30% (have the wig/makinng knives) CHANCES ARE NOT HAPPENING as coat fell through AGAIN.
Yuri KOF 100% (might bring this back so I have a costume!)

Such website now has a photo of the Mt. Tabor group.

It was a great time, I think we scared the locals though.

Always bring rain gear, even if its an umbrella or a poncho, an umbrella is not the best option because you need to hold it up the WHOLE time.  You might think of wearing a decent pair of hiking boots, but regular tenies should be fine.  Snacks and water would be the only thing left I can suggest.  Make sure everyone has those things, or at least the rain gear for our hikes!

yay photo

Hehe... Okay. Got it... the password is cap sensative and I forgot to caps one of the letters. ^^;;;;

AND! the site is now Ad Free! ^^

I also figured out how to get my pics, and the two I took are up there now too. And I changed the site banner image. Objection! ^^ I will remember to bring both a camera and my Flip digi camcorder next time. Nee! It was fun, wet but fun! And next time more walking, even if it rains! Ponchos are like $1 at the dollar tree so if I get RSVPs for the next maybe I can supply one for everyone, like start a SUCH pack I always keep in my trunk to bring on every trip.

hm.. And not to that topic. The next one. Where? near portland, closer to aloha/beaverton or Tigard... or... road trip to even further? (if that, I can bring up to 4 people since I won't have my son.) Also, what time works for everyone? How long do you want it? I think 30 pre hike/walk to talk and eat, then hour walk, then 30 close up? maybe?

Lol, no walk and we went over that time limit already..   But ya that seems like a nice time for something close, if its farther away we should think about a longer stay.  If people have the time it would be dumb to drive an hour some where and only be there for an hour of walking and half hour at the end for a talk (the first 30 would be people gathering and late ones I'd think)  Ideas... um, I'll get back to ya on that one. :)  Most things off the top of my head are too hard for the average person or take to long/far away.

Yeah. until this is bigger, staying to simple hikes/walks is a good idea. We would love more people and having it all "4 hour hike up hills and rocks." would probably make people go... I can't join, I can't do that. ^^;;; but, once the group gets bigger and people get more use to the walk/hikes, then we can do more and more.

Also, as the group gets bigger maybe we can pull funds in sometimes to do something funds related.... not sure what this group would need other then ponchos and maybe the website getting upgraded if it gets big enough to need it. Or help with the $5 a month I am paying now for it. Oh, maybe gas cost too for when we get to the lvl of going further away and have a car bringing many people or 2 cars.

You pay for that site?  Its not a horrible site or anything but I'm sure there are other websites you can make for free and have all the same features.

It's only $5 a month. SUCH isn't a big thing so it don't need a lot of.. um.. bandwidth or storage. I use the template webbuilder, since the last time I used HTML or any other thing was 10 years ago I forgot all I use to know about website building so templateness is a big help.

So far we decided anouther short like hour walk/hike.. with real walking this time even if rain comes. ^^; and... nothing else I think. I think my bigest worry is where. I don't mind bringing people. so if it's in portland again I can pick up beaverton folk and on the way folk.

Hoyt Arboretum actually looks very promising.

"This route travels through the spectacular 187-acre tree museum of Hoyt Arboretum in Southwest Portland. The path winds through a variety of forested ecosystems including oak woodland, redwoods, ponderosa pine forest and an amazing grove of bamboo."

it has shuttles, so I am guessing they come from the zoo... oh, found this
"A place of beauty and  serenity in all seasons,  the Arboretum is easily accessible from anywhere in the metropolitan area, by car, bus or the MAX light rail.   You will also find parking, restroom facilities, ADA accessible trails and ADA parking at or near the Visitor Center.  Admission is free."

So yes, the next one will be at Hoyt Arboretum.

yes, the first quote was from my guide book but the second was from their website.

Might not be a good idea to wear your cosplay, atleast not until summer is here again and the rain is gone. ^^;;

Other then my Zatsune xmas outfit one, which is NO WAY hike ok, even in good wether, the skirt is just too short even with the bloomers under it. ^^;; And hikes in oregon, even when walking them, can get muddy and mud and cosplay outfit normally do not mix well. ^^; but... I guess it also might depend on the cosplay. But I don't think anyone will be at this next one.

Just a reminder. if you are going please RSVP, link is on the 1st post.

Hoyt Arboretum will be a fun hike, and I promise, come rain or shine we will walk.

Also, weather says "Chance of showers. Highs in the mid 40s and lows in the low 40s." So dress warm and bring rain gear. ^^ I will try and rememebr to get some ponchos at the dollar store.

The will be a meeting too as to plans I have fot SUCH, changes I like to make.

I can possibly come along. Are some coming by MAX to the zoo and walking to the gathering spot from there?

Also is there a cell I could contact to find the group in case I'm late or calling to say I'm not coming?

again incase someone needs it, my cell is 503-523-9552

Okay, so looking it all over. There is a parking spot at Kingston DR and Knights blvd, that's where we will meet. It's close to the Zoo's parking and to where the max drops you off underground to get to the Zoo.

sad news. My son won't be with use, ends up he is doing a Cubs Scouts thing with his granpa.  But we'll still have fun. and have this to talk about, and walking, and food and fun.

Scout events come in from time to time. Like tree selling and stuff.

I'll see what I can do about getting my decorating party done as fast as I can and jumping down to catch you guys. otherwise I'll be going to RHPS later that night.

Sorry about that, I didn't get up until I gave tracey a call at 1:05pm.  And it was an awesome looking day too...  I'm disappointed with myself I didn't get my butt up to come.  At least two people came so no one was like, "wtf, I came out here for nothing!"  When I talked to tracey she seemed a little upset because that's just what seemed was about to happen :(  Yay for Anamink saving her from such a fate.

Are you really going to cancel the other meetings until march, tracey?  While that sucks at least there will be your club to get some more chances to hang out with ya before then.  If everyone didn't live so far from each other I'd suggest a multi day/weekly exercise meet up, that focuses on a real workout.  Sadly Too few of the cosplayers on here seem disciplined enough for such meetings, myself included unless there was a cute catgirl coming :D

Oh tracey, didn't you say you were going to trick-or-treat as some future space catgirl?  If you did, do you have a pic, me wants to see the costume ^.^  Myself, I was a wizard for hallows eve.

I woke up at 2 PM.

+ I missed the non k-con event that I didn't want to go to.

- I missed coming to this event.

The rain didn't open up until tonight, and apparently some roads were a little too wet, so my ride couldn't take me to Rocky Horror either. TT_TT

I'm focused enough for workout meetings and would love to be led by a catgirl in them, nya.
I'm partly thinking of upgrading my red ninja to Red Neko Ninja. I just need make some red ears.

I don't know about the "cute" part, but I have the tail, ears, and collar down for catgirl xD

But really, even though it was nice yesterday, that weather isn't likely to last for very long. And I hate walking in the snow. So... I think waiting until March will be a good idea. As long as you guys show up to CLUB!

Dates are now updated.

I would like this to be a bit more hike and less park in time. But to start with we will have are April and May meet ups in the same place as the last. It is in a nice location, and easy to get to both via driving and the Max.

SUCH Is starting up again! Yes, earlier then I though but weather seems to be nicer sooner this year. So, Our first walk/hike will be Feb 21st.

Any ideas on place or time please post.

I was thinking Hoyt Arboretum again, it is easy to get to. and we had a fun hike there. and it's pretty.

Also, carpooling, I can pick people up near me. If you can pick anyone up too please post saying how far off route you can pick them up.

again, easy to get to with bus and max. right next to the zoo.
