You don't have to match me! :} I think I am gonna do the red shirt though, so I can make a Luna-P! And you could still do Princess Serenity, because (at least in the anime) when Serenity turns Black Lady back into Chibiusa she's in the red top.
And it'd save me from buying a lot of fabric to make a pair of jumpers.

Also, if you plan on going to SakuraCon 2011, I'll be wearing a Small Lady dress (the pink one)! :} So excited.

A garden of some sort would be most appropriate I think.

I don't know how it'd be, but if you guys want to make a bit of a trip via Max, there's the actual Rose Garden that overlooks the city. We can do a meetup there sometime this summer pre convention if you want.

If you've never gone, the actual Rose Garden is gorgeous when in bloom. It smells so good, too. The only problem this year is the rain is making really deformed roses. They still smell fantastic, but they're a little damaged.

but im lost also on what shoes i should get/wear or what i can do to a pair of shoes to make them look close.

Dr. Martens might have something similar to what you want. You can also try making boot covers. That would be a cheaper version for sure. Look up "Sailor Moon Boot cover tutorial" and I'm sure you can find something. You just might want to use grommets to make the laces and make a fake tongue for the boot look.

When in doubt, go to Goodwill, Buffalo Exchange, Value Village, Salvation Army, etc. Anything second hand to see if there's something you can paint or use.

I can't drive either Chelsea! So yeah, traveling is difficult, and I live in Washington. D: And I totally get wanting to match people, I like matching as well.

Also, I decided to stick with my original plan and make the red Chibiusa top. :} So I might go and buy a black bouncy ball this weekend to start on a Luna-P.

Sadly, because my funds are running low, I will not be going as Sailor Uranus this year...however, I WILL be coming as Sailor Jupiter again this year.   Not sure if it will be her regular or super form though.

@lychee-twist - I think the Rose Garden would be a lovely place for a shoot! I went there once as a kid and loved it. Hopefully they'll be pretty this year, stupid weather. 

And I'm also part of the non-driving club, but I live close enough that I can catch the bus into Portland.

@EmAino - Sailor Jupiter is the coolest of the inner senshi! She's the only one who can actually kick butt.

I got my serenity costume!!

I tried it on the other day and all the GLUED ON sequins fell off. FML. Now onto the task of re-attaching the million sequins! Oh and it's like a foot too long on me too, easy enough to fix, but not why I bought the costume.

I also started on the daunting task of making a otaku senshi for my best friend who loves Sailor Moon as much as I do. So if you see an entirely red senshi walking with me, she's not an anrgy mars, or messed up mars, she's Sailor Rubi, her own senshi.

Wow, you gals all have way more Moonie cred than I do! I just have a set of 5 gashupon figures (inner senshi), and two unpainted Sailor Saturn garage kit figurines (I'm scared I'll screw them up somehow...). And a VHS of the SuperS movie. Oh, and I suppose I have the entire collection of the manga as well. Which cost a pretty penny, let me tell you.

@lychee-twist - Was that the pink (possibly red) pencil box with the attached sharpener inside? I drooled over that at Anime Detour in Minnesota... knew I should have gotten it.

I remember seeing the whole set of Sailor Moon dolls at the toy store as a kid, but my parents wouldn't buy them all for me. They even had Queen Beryl!

This is making me want to trawl eBay looking for more collectibles... I need more figurines that aren't SquareEnix/Final Fantasy-based.
