My Cosplay List for K-con '10.

So having next year being my 6th year at Kumoricon, but my 3rd year cosplaying, I have two cosplay ideas for next year and need some advice on how much it might cost, what's the easiest way of obtaining things, or if it's such a good idea to actually cosplay at these characters.

So here are my two characters:


Estelle from Tales of Vesperia
-Pink wig
-Green eye contacts
-Costume
-Sword and Shield
-Black leggings
-Shoes
-Gloves


Miki from Shugo Chara!
-Hat with blue spade
-Blue wig
-Blue eye contacts
-White Blouse
-Black vest
-Blue shorts
-Light blue sock
-Black mary janes

So with guesses or exactness, I'd like to know how much both of these costumes would be or how long they might take to make or get. Any advice would be helpful.

I know this one girl, and she's really good with making cosutmes.
She's really good with wigs, and she'll even do the weapon for you as well.

With the contacts alone you are pushing each costume to over 100...probably close to 200 each if not over. Not saying that the contacts are going to cost that much but they will be a large chunk, good ones will be.

@ Gwar: Thank you. I'll see if I can commission my props. That would be so much less of a hassle if I were to just go around and find weapons similar to what I want. xD

@ Nikkiolie: I am highly aware that the contacts would be an expensive item to my cosplay. However, as people love to be really accurate, I too, want to do the same. In fact, I found a site for lenses that found the one's I want for about $30 dollars.


It's all a matter of time till I actually get the money which is probably going to be hard for me. >.<

@Cthulu - I haven't actually bought any coloured contacts (yet), but since I've been looking I thought I'd share a couple sites anyway. Both offer contacts for less than $100/pair, though I have no idea as to the quality.

Im not sure about Estelle but for Miki it doesnt look like it will be to expensive

You could simply get the vest, blouse, shorts and shoes at goodwell/value village all together might be 27 to 30 and the wig isnt to long so if you want to get a good one. using cosworx prices for example it might be 25 to 30. now the hat and the bag could be easily made with a few yards from Joanns/where ever you get fabric if you use the cheap fabric in the quilting section it might be like $3 for like two yards (sometimes you can find good fabric from goodwell and value village for like 1.99 to 6.99) (I dont know about the contacts)

so in Total it might be $54 to like around $64
