Hahaha, I've found that comic on dA before. Now I want to read the rest of them.

I learned how to make chainmail. It takes forever but it's really awesome. I'm waiting for my mother to mail me some pliers so I can do more.

...sadly there are no pictures. I would love to post some but my digital camera is a bloody wanker and isn't working. I only have my cell phone but I don't know how to get cellphone pictures onto the internet. Especially since my phone is a dinosaur.

Oh no, it probably can... Just pull up a text with the picture in it you want to send, then type your email where the number would go.

I posted in last years thread like, twice about maybe cosplaying Germany....but then I ended up going to another con instead. I fail.

This year I am really, really wanting to cosplay as Chibitalia and having my boyfriend go as Italy (I dreamed about it, so I'm kinda creepy for that), but I still don't know what con I can go to. Also, my boyfriend is, naturally, extremely apprehensive as cosplaying a dude from Hetalia. I totally can't say I blame him, but I know he'd pull it off so well! D:

First tip: Come to Kcon. We are seriously cool dudes who do lots of Hetalia-related activities and have lots of fun.

Second: There's nothing to be apprehensive about! Guy characters being cosplayed by guys is pretty effing sweet and kind of rare, at least at our events. XD And having a Chibitalia/Nitaly duo would be adorable~, so you should come be adorable where we can squee and take pictures. In a not-creepy way, I mean.

Okay, well he said that sounds fine and dandy, but now he's worried that he won't know enough references to the character in case anyone asks him or makes a joke. I think that'll be solved by just watching the show more, but he's just kinda nervous. XD

Also, he's worried about getting the costumes, but I don't think they'll be that hard....as a start, does anyone have any patterns or hints they've used as a starting point? I'm still trying to figure out which Chibitalia outfit I should do, the normal green maid costume or the all white poofy one.

WW2-era N Italy is easier, because you can go to a military surplus store and buy a uniform. In Portland, there's Aloha Surplus and Andy & Bax. If you need a wig for him, I recommend amphigory.com.

By the white one, d'you mean his super-Catholic one? o.o That'd be interesting.

Yeah, that one. It might get a bit hot though, with the capelet and the puffy hat- I do love me some puffy hats though.

And yeah, I was considering hitting the surplus stores. Should we go with boot covers or actual boots? The boots will be expensive, but boot covers usually end up looking like puffy megaman feet....;_;

I hate girl clothes. Regardless of who puts me in them. I just don't feel like myself because I'm not girly. I prefer to wear what I feel comfortable in. I'm sure you could make me look fabulous but I'd feel awful and uncomfortable and fake.
But don't get sick!

Sorry, I'm keeping them. xD; I like having a good body for crossplay... a lot of people can't even tell which is awesome, and I can't think of a single female character I'd want to be. And if I ever did I sure as hell would never pick a really feminine one.

I think I could easily crossplay, I've just never thought of a character I'd want to crossplay as. And that I have a pretty unisex face, but I'm really short and have a really feminine body type. So I don't know how good my chances of pulling it off convincingly would be. XD

Auricle: Someone was considering doing SatW cosplay, so I thought it'd be appropriate. That and SatW is ridiculously cool.

Chacha: Chibitalia is one of those cosplays where even if you don't make a super-convincing cross you still look true to the character.
