My friend PK is going as Ukraine. Also, Firo will be America.

I was supposed to get my Russia coat done by today, but I'm at yet another family function for Father's Day so that's on the wayside. Turns out that merely taking out breast darts isn't enough to get a straight pattern. Luckily I have left over fabric so I think I can cut out a new front to my coat.

At least the sleeves look good! I'm excited about that. Insides are ugly, but the outsides look good!

-Denmark
-Genderbend Denmark
-Genderbend Germany
-Genderbend Switzerland
-Greece
-Maaaaayyyyybbbbbeeee Belarus but that's not really up there on my list, lol.

Personally I'm not to hot on the Fem!Character thing, but if that's what you want to do, go for it! Anything you do will be cute I'm sure.

Running low on Bias tape and brown thread. I'm surprisingly happy with how this is coming out so far. The only thing is anything behind the seams looks, well, completely amateur and messy. I'm sewing the bias tape backwards because I know that I can't line it up correctly. Everything's pretty clean so far. Yay!

I'm the same way about Gender-bent characters. Unless it makes sense for the series, I just think it's an excuse to wear less clothing and call yourself a character...

My only thing is that I prefer cosplaying girl characters and there aren't many Hetalia girls that aren't overdone or I actually like or would be able to get into character for, but I'm not going for the wearing-less-clothes part, I just found some really cute/badass ones. =,D

I like the genderbent characters. There isn't any material behind them in the series, but Himaruya himself has drawn quite a few of them.

The first thing I'm going to do is buy the stuff I need for chibi!Canada since I've settled on going as him.
Then decide on some other version of England (besides the punk one) cuz I've been way too focused on Canada; so I need to give him love too.
Oh, and style my current Canada wig to make it more... Canada-esque, as well as replace the dangerous metal ahoge with one made with actual wig hair (and maybe add maple flavoring to it, pfft. //// *inside joke*)

Fabric Depot can be expensive as I have found out many times, but their selection is awesome. For those of you who haven't gone, it's a fabric store that's about the size of a Fred Meyers. I'm convinced it's a renovated grocery store just looking at the large parking lots.

I bought thin scuba material for my Sailor Moon cosplay. It's thick and really stretchy. I hope it works.
