In order to forcefully pull the thread back on topic, here's a really terrbad picture of bias tape on Austria.

I think I'm officially done and satisfied with this costume. About 1.5 years after starting it.

The Queen singers might be for Hanna's not a Boy's Name. >>

Lychee: I should really thank you for how it turned out. It never would've occurred to me to do anything besides topstitch or fabri-tac it if you hadn't pointed out that tutorial. It's more of a fandom thing, and one of the guest comics has Hanna singing a Queen song.

A UN photoshoot would be seriously boss, even if I'm not a G8 nation.

Yeah, the corner trick is helpful but not universally useful. I was doing some corners that were 75-ish degrees, so the mitered corners trick didn't really work on them and I ended up derping it. >>

1) Now you have a handy dandy guide for doing them semi-correctly! The tutorial mostly applies to quilted fabrics, which are a lot easier to corner than four layers of seamed fabric. >>

Progress news on the Dutch front here! My Netherlands FIFA uniform cosplay is about 80% complete now, just waiting on a patch to sew on to the jersey and looking for a wig. Someday I'll try to make the military uniform as well, though it does look suspiciously like a Wehrmacht jacket that's been bleached so many times that it's a khaki gray. Actually, Dutch uniforms of the period did resemble German ones, but that's a whole different tangent.

North Korea is coming together as well. The uniform is complete, I just need the wig and my DPRK cosplay is ready to go. Now I'm starting to wonder which day I should do which country... decisions, decisions...

Yayyyy for progress! I'm almost done with my cape for Nomad!Hungary after getting fur just about everywhere~ I've finished most of the accessories that go with it as well. Now I just need to finish the main clothing part. I'm waiting until next month to do the Bustier/Corset thingy though~ I've also realized that I'll probably only be cosplaying this in the evenings and possibly on Friday as well. I have an AA table again, and sitting in it all day doesn't seem like much fun (plus it'd be really hot) so I'll probably be in my green dress down there~ <3

Hey! I was a Hungary with glasses last year...the only one the photoshoot ffft. This year, I'll be doing Hungary again, along with Romano and Casual!Sweden. I might go full Sweden if I can get a hand on his jacket but it looks doubtful >>
