Yeah, I know, but I was thinking of wearing a black tank top (because, seriously, I cannot be the only one who positively adores Himaruya's tank top sketches), and maybe having a little bit of fun with the pants.

Although, to be honest, I'm a bit perplexed about exactly what color he was going for with Austria's tank top. Take a look (http://himaruya.blog61.fc2.com/blog-entry-765.html, scroll down a bit). There's that one part that looks like it's black, but that could just be the shadow of his arm. Or maybe it is black, and it's just, y'know, implied for the non-colored parts. Really, guys, help me out here.

Ooh, I love that sketch! I was totally thinking of trying for that version some day, but it'd take a lot of stealth binding.

I'm pretty sure it's a black tank, since he colored the sketches of Germany and Prussia in the same tank tops and theirs were black. There might've been a colored version of that sketch, or maybe it was a fan coloring...

I think it's the combination of practical hairstyle and alert expression. Boy N Italy's faces tend to be more zoned out.

Oddly enough, it's the constant posting that makes me want to check it so often. I don't want to have to devote a day (or several) to going back and seeing if I missed anything good.

Yeah, that makes sense. Way back when, before I knew of the official genderbends, I thought that fem!Germany would have long hair in a ponytail. I was wrong, obviously, but the "practical hairstyle" sentiment was there. I do like the short hair, though.
It's France's face that bothers me, actually. I don't know what I'm supposed to be getting from that expression.

Yeah, the concept of wig-shopping is nothing short of terrifying to me.

That makes sense, since most people still read fic and look at art regularly on the comm. I mostly only care about official character art, (or new nation-tans like the micronations! >w<) so I just hit the "official site" tag every so often to check what I've missed.

Romantic beauty of beauteousness and romance?

For some characters, it's really easy. For others that require a lot of styling and have ambiguous hair coloring, it's just painful.
It's a little easier for me, since Hashi does all my wig styling and advises me about what kind of wigs I need. But that doesn't help with the color ambiguity, leading me to spend two hours dithering over whether I want my wig in color number 6, 8, 10 or 12.

... You know, that actually makes it all make sense. Fem!France has more of a gentle, subtle charm, as opposed the BEAUTIFUL GORGEOUS SEXY IN-YOUR-FACE charm of male!France.

That is one of the nice things about this fandom. Sure we have our insecure jerks, as any fandom does, but for the most part, it's all love and good intentions.

I don't understand how Himayura does the personality dichotomies at all, since most of the nation-tans have personality traits that are easily transferable to women. Or men, in the case of Mangary.

I think about that, too, sometimes. That's probably why I was so shocked that fem!France didn't have the same magnitude of over-the-top, overtly romantic charm as male!France. Mangary, however, does raise a few questions for me. Like, what would his childhood have been like? Would he have had similar gender confusion? And on the subject of genderbent gender confusion, what about Chibitalia (not just the character, but the plot line in general)? Well, actually, I have my theories about genderbent Chibitalia, but I'm rambling as it is, so I guess I'll just be quiet.
