I need to find a thespian I can ask about theatrical weapon stores. If I knew who was in charge of costuming I'd be more worried about asking them for a job. I want to work in the costume department.

My wig that I was going to use for Sora, when I was going to be Sora, works super well for Italy. I'm going to run to Claire's or something and get one of those pin in extension things. I'll turn it in to the swirly-of-awesome and gel it in to the wig.

Um...*thinking* I guess if all else fails, there's tutorials on the internet (places like deviantART) where they'll show you how to/what to make a sword with. I saw a really awesome one for a Keyblade once. And man, it's like $15 or less to make one of those. XD
Maybe you can find some theatrical chain mail while you're looking. :3

Just as a heads up you might have trouble finding a actual store that carries theatre weaponry. A lot of props and weapons that theatres carry are things that have just kind of been passed around over the years, built by some amazing prop-makers, or ordered from random online theatre databases.

You might be able to find something if your lucky, but in my experience when my theatre troop had to find rapiers for Romeo and Juliet we were only able to rent some through the guy giving us our swordfighting lessons and he had gotten them at some theatre festival.

I might have to look up tutorials anyway, since theatrical weapons are so expensive. But I really want something metal, and something that's correctly balanced. D8

(maybe they offer a prop/costuming class here...? I'm not sure I could get in though, since I'm not a theatre major.)

I agree with Miria. You don't want to injure yourself and not have a backup. The boots I wore to the con ripped all the skin off the top of my little toe on friday night, and I only had the one pair to wear for three more days. It isn't fun, believe me.
