@Yagi: I THOUGHT IT WAS IN FLORENCE. OMG THAT'S SO COOL IT'S RIGHT NEXT TO EUGENE. My friend and I have been entertaining the thought of driving down there for a weekend, convincing her to go to Springfield instead of Florence will be WAY easier! 8DDD Oh my god I'm excited.

@Felix: I hope you're paying real good attention in all your costume/prop-making lessons because as you know that I'm going to expect you to teach me all of the cool knowledge you have gleaned.

Well...I have some but I can't find one (should I say skanky?) enough for a Fem!France. They all seem to covered up and secure. I would think a Fem!France would be more out there than any image I can find so far.
Fem!Itay - http://yunichan.deviantart.com/art/APH-Gender-Bender-Italy-126343105
Fem!Germany - http://khakipants12.deviantart.com/art/Hetalia-Duality-142225981
Fem!America - Hair Outfit 1  Outfit 2
Fem!France - :/ None yet...

But yes...I'm half French and half German but I'm American (And a female obviously...or so I'd hope it was obvious) so that's where those three come from. And I just love Italy and pasta.

I know Jaqua had a genderbent ref that was pretty clothing-minimal...

That Nyotalia is adorable, though. <3 And has my Austria boots. XD

You could always make your own?

@Miria: It will be very heavy but IT'S GOING TO LOOK AWESOME AND AUTHENTIC. And that's more important.

@Felix: YAAAAAY CHAINMAIL!! I am so excited for your costume. 8D

@Gryff: I'm personally a fan of canon Femerica, but it's likely there will be a Femerica, and very unlikely that there will be a FemFrance. I think Miria's pic has a good FemFrance outfit. You should dooo iiittt. : D

I know. D: -shakefist- Succession, why do you punish me like this.

On that note, Succession people, we need to get together and figure out our designs. Hashi's been pushing for and I totally agree that we should go super detailed on this. It'd suck to make awesome Succession outfits and then have them be meh due to lack of frills.

It depends on how creative and resourceful you are... there are ways you can reduce the cost. 8D
like bedsheets and mking your own chainmail.
but BEDSHEETS ARE FOR REAL MEN.
I'm excited for my costume too. it will be made of epic win.

YES for detail.
...damn I need to start working on mine or they'll never get done. I HATE MY BLOODY STRAIGHTPINS.

I'll probably do mostly repeats in '11 due to succession. I forget, who all is in our succession group?
OH YEAH WE NEED REPLICA WEAPONS TOO.
just saying.

Bedsheets are for people with white costumes. BD

Did you ever find your pins? XD

Weapons=total duh. The only question is do we want more swords or muskets/rifles?

SK is doing Prussia because she already has a Prussia cosplay, Yagi's doing Spain, Hashi's France, I'm Austria, Jaqua's Hungary and you're England! : D

@Miria: I love that fem!France. And funnily enough that is the same artist who did the Prussia I referenced! 8D

I know. D: -shakefist- Succession, why do you punish me like this.

I AGREE WHOLEHEARTEDLY. If I'm doing something detail-oriented like Succession, I'm not going to do it halfway. Plus, we do all need to work together so that all our outfits have the same feel, as opposed to doing them all separately and having them not feel... Unified.

@Felix: I don't expect you to forget, I'm just reminding you :>

Unrelated, but I'm starting to think I won't be doing Hetalia at Sakura (if I do end up going) in favor of other things... Since I'm going to be doing Hetalia this year and twice next year for Kcon. xD And I'm thinking that after 2011 I'll be retiring Hetalia (unless something REALLY cool comes up and I change my mind). SO MANY THINGS I WANT TO COSPLAY, NOT ENOUGH CONS TO GO TO

Jaqua: lawl historical irony?
Buttons EVERYWHERE. I think we should all sit down and sketch out what we're planning sometime. Maybe even soon, since you live right by Yagi's dorm. We'll get Felix later, although that's not gonna take much adjustment because she's a Lobsterback~

Dude, totally. Succession was kind of brain fever on my part, because I decided that IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, DAMNIT and along the way I ended up pushing back all our other major projects. Hopefully the difficulty level of Succession will make it so all our next projects are more doable.
Except Yagi's bird. The fu...dging shoulder bird. I want cussing back. ;;

You can get bedsheets in lots of colours.
Or you can dye them.

I STILL HAVEN'T URGH.

I could be there if you guys wanted to wait till mid-march. and then you'd have my mad costume expertise. but really, I think succession is the hardest cosplay on my list of cosplays I want to do.
except maybe the cloud wing but we're not going to talk about that.

Muskets would be easier to make from scratch since they're ... not swords. You pretty much have to buy swords if you want realistic ones and they're super expensive.

and... I'll probably be done with Hetalia after succession too. Seeing as the only reason I do hetalia cosplays in the first place is cause you guys are so awesome... what other plans do you have after succession?

and yeah it really pisses me of that you can't swear. they should make it a profile setting, where you can filter it out if you want to, or turn the filter off. bloody wankers.

Yeah, white's just extra easy.

WORK ON THAT

We'll probably end up pushing it to March just because we're inefficient and there's so much stuff to get done between then and now.

Dude. Making muskets would be beyond epic. Unfortunately, I know jack all about carpentry. I just know we can get costume guns and swords at the Halloween Warehouse and probably pick some up at Spirit when it opens up again.

... there is a list. It is a long list. I think we might be jealously guarding it.

and are they good quality? I don't want cheap plastic weapons... It has to look at least somewhat authentic. Especially since we're putting so much effort into the costumes.

In Beaverton, on Canyon Rd. They're the bestest guns ever, but they don't look bad. Yagi got her uzi there, which is a pretty fabulous weapon for sure. The swords... they are a little Halloween-costume glittery, but nothing I'd be ashamed to carry. I think. It's been a while since I was there. >> I figure we have time to check around there and Spirit before we get down to making weapons, since Spirit closes in October and we'll have till the next September to get weapons and everything else together.

We'll pimp you at the panel. You'll totally rack in the bucks, especially if there's no free papercraft.

How long's your break?

I thought that was appropriate.

My favorite gun is the M-16 assault rifle. Unfortunately it is not very period-friendly. And uzi's are great, but unfortunately not very good zombies killers. Which is actually why I like the M-16 so much, it mows them down like nobody's business. Come Z-Day, I'm investing in one of them.
all of my knowledge of firearms comes from zombie shooters :'/

I have some knowledge of carpentry so I think I'll be of SOME use, and then my dad is big into that kind of stuff so if worse comes to worse I'm sure he'd get a kick out of lending a hand.
But I would rather buy them since I'm lazy.

My break was elongated to two weeks due to budget cuts. (Honestly though, I'm not complaining.)

Hmm, so I should probably make more Hetalia ones...
if I do I'll probably use the same designs... maybe add a few, since I had people ask for ones I didn't have. Do you think enough people would still buy them if I only brought repeats? Or who should I add?
Most of the new ones I make will be Kingdom Hearts because that's way more popular...

@Miria: Yay progress! I like the wig. : D

@Felix: I don't know how many pins you sold last year, but I'm guessing there will be plenty of new people who haven't gotten any yet and would love the repeats. I personally like anything involving any of the Bad Friends Trio, the Germans, Hungary, or Turkey and Greece. I don't remember what all you had last year, but I'm sure I'll buy one or two (or more 8D) if you have those characters~!

If I make new ones, I'll definitely be adding Hungary and Russia. (I had at least three people ask about Russia... and Hungary just wins.)
I currently have Bad Friends, England, America, Canada, China, Japan, Austria and Germany.

I'll probably only do the new Hetalias if I have time, though. I want to do more mainstream things first.
