I'm in the process of building a casual America until I can get a pilot's jacket.

But I also thought of making a modern Hetalia cosplay episode of the winter games. Shy and patient Canada finally gets his spotlight, and the world gathers to play for the top. Small problem is that we don't have snow unless we made it into a trip to Mt. Hood (or Bachelor for southern Oregon folks?) or something.

Well damn >< I found the most perfect Russia cosplay EVER and apparantly the store JUST stopped selling it D: I'll need to find the right fabric and the pattern though, but i'm thinking about makeing my own Russia cosplay. Besides, now that i think about it it would be a lot cheaper and i won't have to worry about "OMG I GOT A STAIN ON MY $150 DOLLAR COSPLAY"

We got lots of German Trio and Nordics photos at Sak. Expect German Trio pictures first, because my friend who was shooting us as Nordics was using a film camera and has to develop and upload it all. ._.

Vaguely related, my experience at Sak with the swollen Hetalia fandom was poor. I'm considering skipping the Hetalia photoshoot this year at Kcon. I'm not quite certain yet, I just want to let you all know early in case I do decide to walk away. I don't want to leave you hanging without some kind of organizing influence. I'll make sure to update the first post with meeting information, too, because it's terrible when that isn't clear. If you guys want me to help figure out good times and places, I'm still available for that. Also, I still want to do a panel of some kind, because you are all a lot of fun when I'm not dealing with ~80 people screaming fangirl-y over each other and failing to respect their fellow human beings.

Like finding a wig and deciding the outfit. So I thought I should just start with the wig.

amphigory.com and cosworx.com are both reliable sites to get wigs on. I'd be wary of getting a $15 wig, because that will generally get you $15 quality.

Hmmmm. Making a fairy would be cool but it would kind of defeat the purpose since no one but England can see them. And I think it's better to let people imagine the fairies for themselves, since everyone has different ideas of what they look like. (also I'm curious... did you use your real hair?)

Also I drew a stupid Hetalia comic in class a couple days ago. If you guys would like I can take crappy pictures of it... (if I wait till I have a scanner again I'll probably think it's too stupid to post...) I have no excuses. I don't know what came over me.

Why not to cosplay Nazis? I think there should be more panels like that.

I remember one thread on Coscom I read said something along the lines of, "i no the nazis were bad but this is for cosplay!" as an excuse (they also didn't have very good English skills).

Sure, it's for cosplay and all, but you're in a public place, with pictures being taken without your permission. But I suppose if you want your future employer to potentially see a picture of you in your SS regalia as well as make an ass out of yourself, among other more obvious things (or things that should be obvious), that's your choice.

I have mixed feelings about the Nazi heil at AB for various reasons, but I'm not going to go into them right now.

Scon was indeed a giant clusterf*ck of both the best and worst times I've ever had at a con, but I don't think I'm so turned off that I want to skip the Kcon photoshoot. I still love the characters, the concept, the cosplays, and you awesome people, and at the very least I still want to do the sleepover panel. Even if I'm done with the fandom, I'm not entirely done with the series itself yet. Of course, whatever I do at Kcon will depend on what the rest of the PoSms want to do, too. : )

German Trio photos will be up when I stop wasting time putting off homework and watching Avatar. >>;

I heard about the AB thing on the comm. That just such a -_- moment for me. It's okay to talk about the negative implications of Hetalia, like Nazis and imperialism, but that is the wrong way to do it.

And just to nitpick horribly, Prussia and Germany wear Wehrmacht uniforms anyway.

On a completely different subject I'm about 50% done with Sister Finland's cosplay, and have spent only 25% of the energy I eventually will on it.

Did anyone hear about the last treaty the US signed with Russia? A while ago, yes, but I haven't seen anyone discuss it. The Moscow bombings, perhaps?

I never was a huge Hetalia fan in the first place, but I don't mind attending the photoshoot as long as people aren't being immature little twits. That's when I'd be inclined to leave... I'll just stick with the PoSms as well.

Also before the term ends I'll see if I can find some Succession refs. The costume department has loads of great reference books, and I'm sure they'd let me look at them. Maybe we can start right after k-con... I'll have the most motivation then and SOU doesn't start until the end of September.

Go to Advanced Image Search. You can set how large you want your images results to be.
