So I was sitting in bed one night watching King of the Hill on Cartoon Network and I saw this add for a concert coming to Portland that I would be interested in going to. Well here is the information taken right from the website:

"Video Games Live™ is an immersive concert event featuring music from the most popular video games of all time. Top orchestras & choirs perform along with exclusive video footage and music arrangements, synchronized lighting, solo performers, electronic percussionists, live action and unique interactive segments to create an explosive entertainment experience!"

On top of that they even have a costume contest. I plan on going and I think Sam (AriaxKitsune) plans on going as well. The tickets range from 25 dollars (back of the balcony) to 130 (front row seats). I did check and the nicest seats are now $70 and according to my parents those are pretty good seats.

It might be pretty cool if we could go together, if that were the case we could go for the cheaper seats all together.

So here is some time and date info.

Date: Sat Nov 7th (two weeks from tomorrow)
Time: 7:30
Place: Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall

I just downloaded the Trailer from the site...AND HEDIEO KOJIMA WAS THERE!! If I go there I will be in Snake cosplay!

I bet this is better then Disneyland!

Im currently going to this. I found out about VGL last year and have been saving up money. So now im in the dress circle =). Im dressing up to this too. Im hoping that they will play some Metal Gear Solid music and hopefully Shadow of The Colossus. I was gonna post something about this too when it hit november.

Not at all. They had a final fantasy thing like this in Seattle last year and Nobu was there in jeans. I don't think it is too formal.

Nice...although my mom just took my PSP away and I CANT FRAKING play..Im at the part where you got to fight the ninja..
For my Snake (from MGS3) I need straps, a belt with pouches, eyepatch, and a headband.

You should be able to steal a headband from your mentor.

The nice thing about this is that cheap seats are still great seats.

Yep, the Schnizter doesn't really have bad seats..especially for something like this. I would be going, but I will be at PDXLAN instead.

There weren't many costumes there as I had expected, but it's only day 1. And I missed the contest by 10 minutes! I had an epic Super Mario cosplay on me too. But the concert was all coolness. They even had a FF7 slideshow of fan art and cosplays while the orchestra played One Winged Angel. The last slide said "Cosplays FTW!"

Hideo wasnt there but he did leave a video! The acoustics of the concert hall was amazing! Choir did an amazing job. The music was very moving and brought back much nostalgia. I got into the finals in the costume contest. Note to self: You cant win against a chibi Zelda.
