Favorite songs/music videos from the "Old School" on youtube
« on: October 25, 2009, 09:02:10 am »
Hey there folks Animeman73 here. It's been a while since I put up a thread so I figured might as well try now.

If you read my complaint in the Complaints, anyone section you know how I feel about a lot of today's music. If not I can sum it up like this, IT STINKS, a lot of artists today, and I'm not saying all, are selling out and conforming to one particular sound. And I've always been of the strong opinion that conformity in music is not a good thing. So, in the fight against conformity in all genres of music I decided to create this thread to the "Old School" of music, that is those musicians who had their own sound and a great vibe to them. If you find any videos of some of your favorite old school musicians, anything from the 60's to the early to mid 90's, on youtube please post them here. Let's show the modern artists how the old school did it right! In keeping with that I have a couple links to some awesome music videos check them out.

The Moody Blues, Nights in White Satin 67':

Martin Page, In the house of stone and light:

If I come across any more I'll place the links meanwhile lets get some more links from you Kumoricon peeps out there. READY...GO!!!

MC Hammer ... "U Can't Touch This"
It starts out with some short music award thing for 10 seconds, but the video quality is pretty good, considering its old-school-ness (and, of course, being on youtube)

Hey dshwshr55 that was great. I remember MC Hammer. He was one of those rappers I always liked because he never disrespected anyone of differing arce he was always very upbeat and positive and that's what I always liked about him and Jazzy Jeff and Will "The Fresh Prince" Smith. And Jaz awesome entry from you as well, okay folks lets hear some more.

Holy mackeral KogaRyu, I remember a lot of these rap songs from High School and College. Wow, you really did some research, kudos (applause) to you!

Well now it's my turn again and I've got another couple of gems this time from the 80's.

U2 (A band that has never sold out in my opinion) With or wothout you:

And a great song from one of the most underappreciated fantasy movies of all time Legend. Bryan Ferry Is your Love strong enough:
