I say that they can carry HIV for a small amount of time, but the HIV would eventually die.
Also, would a bite from an HIV carrying vampire infect you with HIV?
i mean, it can't be transmitted through small amounts of saliva, so i can't think of why it would infect you.

unless the vampire blood has healing capablities, in which case they can't get aids nor carry it, and their blood can cure aids in an infected person

ya, you have to think about that as well... Maybe make different vampires with different blood capabilities, some can gain aids, but not for long do to their body and the fact that it's to cold for the virus to survive, and some have blood that has an immunity to virus' and other diseases... It's like the Vampire the Masquerade/Requiem game, they each have different characteristics about them, but are still vampires (and by characteristics, I mean have different powers and abilities, thus making them unique) which is what I think make's vampires so interesting, is because of all the different things they can do, and the fact that there's so much about them power wise that there's choices.

lol ya, but in all reality, the HIV/AIDS virus cannot survive away from body heat for more than a couple of minutes, 20 at most, it's that frail... Also, with enough bleach, you can kill the virus as well.

how about the west nile virus? that thing can kill the infected person in less than a week. Bot flies are just a huge pain.

I had another thought about vampires. Oh! That's it, it had to do with dragons. Vlad Dracul = Vlad Dragon. Expands the realm into the reptiles for vampires. Who probably wouoldn't catch much of anything that most mammals would catch. But then how do we know it wasn't dinosaur AIDS that wiped them out?

i believe what he is trying to say is that with dracul being a root word for dragon, vampires could have something to do with dragons.

i still think that aids couldn't develop in their body.

HIV could live in it for a small amount of time but it would die off after a short amount of time.

i also believe that they would not be effected by it. they could pass it on though.

yes, it is the sparkly ones that are fake... But let's see, in the oWoD, vampirism started when Cain killed Abel, and as such, God cursed Cain for this deed. What God did was curse him with immortality and the power of God so no other beings could kill him. He then embraced 3 beings, who then embraced 13, those 13 where the first vampires, and their blood had a certain thing about it that made them immune to all virus's and gave them powers and a bunch of stuff. In other folk lore, it was Dracula who was the first actual vampire when Satan cursed him and then gave him powers. It all depends on which one you go off of.

I just today asked the med paperwork lady this question (and boy the look on her face was funny!)   anyway she said blood is blood it would go into the vampire as they fed, so they would get it into the body but if the vampire has regenerateive abilities then they would kill the virus
