changed the rules?  I know they added rules(new mechanics).  made things easier to understand.  but did they ever totally change how the game is played?  You still take turns, tap lands for mana to cast creatures and spells right?

Just the concept. I think Magic's flavour text conveys the story and the atmosphere just fine. The art is actually cool in my opinion.

they actually changed a lot of rules recently, such as damage on the stack, and apparently mana burn is a thing of the past.

i also don't know if you have seen the oversized "Plane" cards yet, but they break the metagame.

Yeah originally I was gonna talk about this but there is another thread covering this stuff. I think this is beyond the scope of this topic.
