I apologize in advance for the length of this post.
I am currently watching on Hulu:
1) Princess Tutu - The story is more complex than I thought it would be. I haven't watched all of the episodes yet, but, I did watch the ending already. For me, personally, it has one of the best endings to anime that I have seen.
2) Accel World - I like this one quite a bit.
3) Eureka Seven: Astral Ocean - It's disappointing that there are not much of the prior Eureka Seven characters in this one. However, imo, it is still one of the better animes that I have watched this summer.
4) Romeo x Juliet - I am actually watching this series in both subtitled and English dubbed forms. So, it is taking me longer than normal to get through the series.
Shows I watched earlier this year on Hulu:
1) Ouran High School Host Club - I liked it okay. It wasn't as funny as I was hoping it would be.
2) Guilty Crown - I had a real love/hate reaction to this one. There were some great parts to the anime, but, there were also so many contrived coincidences and characters sometimes seemed to randomly behave in whatever way that the plot dictated. In other words, it was more of a shock-and-awe, plot-driven anime.
3) Is this a Zombie? - The lead male character was a pervert. I found three of the lead female characters annoying. They were constantly accosting the guy even when he wasn't doing anything wrong. However, some of the comedy moments worked for me. I thought that the main magical girl outfit in this anime was well-designed, fashion wise. Also, after having to watch so many magical girl transformations in animes over the years, I found it amusing to see a male character have to do the magical "girl" transformation. As well as, the lead male character can be downright sweet and caring some of the time.
4) C3 - The fan service/ecchi was annoying, but, the lead male character wasn't a pervert and the premise was intriguing. I really liked this one, overall.
5) Ultra Maniac - I liked it okay.
6) Darker Than Black - Season 2 - I liked the first season better. I didn't like that there was so little of the season one characters.
7) Pandora Hearts - I actually saw the first 3 episodes of this at the 2011 Kumoricon. So, I was happy to see that this anime title was on Hulu. I had a somewhat mixed reaction to this. Not really the love/hate reaction that I had to Guilty Crown, it was more that I was just disappointed some of the time. In general, I liked it overall, though.
Future Diary - A really brutal anime. I did like the ending. The way that they resolved it worked for me.
9) The Legend of the Legendary Heroes - This had some really great plot points. I loved the tragic friendship between Sion and Ryner. However, to me, Ferris was a very annoying, unlikable character. She was constantly attacking Ryner, calling him a pervert, when he a) wasn't a pervert and b) wasn't doing anything wrong.
Shows I tried but couldn't get into:
1)Binbogami Ga! - I found the two lead characters annoying.
2) High School DxD - Lead character is a pervert and the anime seems aimed at guys.
3) Lupin the Third: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine ---- Fujiko has a clothes issue in much of the 1.25 episodes that I watched... In that, she's not wearing any, much of the time. It's really rather distracting, annoying, and it takes away from the story. As much as I liked the Castle of Cagliostro, I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in watching nekkid Fujiko. I do wish that there were more anime's featuring adult characters. But, not in this way. So, definitely not in this way.
4) Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere - Aimed at guys.
5) Maria Holic - Really unlikable lead male character (who dressed as a girl). For me, personally, one of the most unlikable lead characters that I have seen in any anime. He was just such a cruel, mean-spirited character.
