Tanis' Scary New Intimidating Keyboard
« on: January 18, 2010, 12:36:39 am »

This thing is a loud as a diesel engine when I type on it, making very satisfying resolute clicky noises, and it makes me keep my eyes on the screen, typing a heck of a lot faster cause I'm not tempted to look down.

Whatchoo think about that?

Edited because the H-word I used was too high-level for this place.

No offense, but I don't find that scary.
I've been able to type without looking at the keyboard, for quite some time, so it wouldn't bother me if there was nothing on it.

Though, my cousin does find it scary, since she can't do that...

When I type, my upstairs neighbors tell me to keep it down.

This reminds me of the control panels in Alien...endless arrays of lights and buttons. All without labels.

I am considering getting a Das Keyboard because it clicks just as well as my original IBM PC keyboard. :D

And boy howdy does it click.

My keyboard clicks, and because I'm too lazy to type not looking at my keyboard, since I type fast enough already, THIS DOES NOT SCARE ME. My old middle school had these for the required typing class.

I like keyboards that click loud. I don't like those new smooth ones they have out. They just make my fingers sweaty and crap.

So it doesn't scare me. I would like to try one of those keyboards...

Das Keyboards are $70 and came out in 2007. Try again.

Not Das keyboards, but something similar. I remember they had no lables but they might have just taken the labels off.

In my typing class back in middle school, we used keyboards with no marks on them to help us touch-type better.

We put towels over our keyboards at school. I don't need to use it now though because I can type faster.

Left-handed Dvorak is quite nice. And how did you guess this wasn't QWERTY?

I tend to be much scarier in any environment where I am not limited by my body. Much like JeffT.

Tanis are you saying the keyboard is scary because of it's color? That's racist. ;)

At least I could still play minesweeper.

Nah, but when my dad saw it, all he could say was "how the ____ are you supposed to type on that?" Then again, this is a guy who has to hunt around for every letter, every time.

I guessed it wasn't a QWERTY, as I tried to look up a Dvorak keyboard for sale, and couldn't find one easily.

Let's not have people type 200 wpm with little training. What will they do the rest of the day, right? phbbbtttt!

I used a hammer like the one shown, back on my first ship. Used it to slug down the handholes when hydroing a boiler. Good one to have in those little spaces I had to crawl into.
Have Fun
