Anime Evolution is a wonderful convention. Creation Station loves this con. We ran rooms there in 2006,7,8 &9. Blackjack is running Fanfic Bedtime Stories there, Aaron; it would be great if you could go there & read fics!

Not a problem!

P. S.  AE has sucked so far.  Day 1 was so horrible, I no longer consider Friday the 13th to be a good day.  Day 2 was pretty okay; I probably would've enjoyed it more if 1 wasn't so bad.  So far, day 3 hasn't been that great, either.

The Clark Manga & Anime Club has comprised a list of things that we want to make AE aware of.  Some of their staff knows some of these issues, all of them are unaware of all of them.  My only downfall with this is the how...

You know how we have the Rant & Rave panel after closing ceremonies?  They have one, too, called Assault and Flattery, or something like that.  Apparently, only staff members can be in there; no con goers.  How are on goers to know that the con is aware of these problems if they can't voice their concerns face to face with them?

I'm hoping to find a way...

I'm sorry to hear that it was not an enjoyable time for you and that Assault & Flattery is staff-only, which makes ZERO sense. Perhaps you can start threads on their forums?

Of note, this is the 1st year in several that Melissa Magnan did not run Programming (and the 1st in 5 years that there was no Creation Station, & yes, these are somewhat related, though finances were as influential). The good news is that the reason is that Melissa & her husband James had their first baby this summer! (A healthy boy.)

Were your concerns more with what was offered as Prog, what was not offered as Prog, or some of the logistics, overall atmosphere, cost, ??

Glad you're still planning to be epic for Bedtime Stories....whether or not I'll be there will vary with how hot it is and whether I have a cat sitter, but if I can be there, I will for sure not want to miss your performance :)

Apparantly, Assault and Flattery is open to the attendees.  The person who told me this either misunderstood, or didn't want me there because there was so much wrong with the con.

The new Programming Director told me privately that she wasn't really that well trained on what to do.  (At least I think that's what her position was).  They were also really short staffed.

Programming wasn't that big of a deal for me.  There was the issue of the Voice Acting panel being misleading, but I blame the panelist more than the con for this.  Also, the location of the Fanfic Bedtime stories was terrible.  It needed to be in a more secluded area; it was hard to hear the readers and we couldn't use the mic for the adult section.

Most of our anger and disappointments were relating to registration and a lack of order.

We hope that the many errors will be addressed and repaired for next year.  We probably won't be going back in 2011, but that's morely because of financial matters.  We still have yet to meet and discuss it, considering we just got home last night.

Yeah, I told them "no stadium seating, has to be a place that allows food"...and somehow they concluded that it had to be in the hotel lobby. WTF.

I *did* request a mic in my application, though, so I have no idea why it took them so long.

I just don't get why they didn't stick with the original plan provided in their con book, or with the first plan that they sculpted with us in line.  The fact that they changed it on us multiple times was ridiculous.
