Malaria: Yeah, and yet he comes to K-con EVERY YEAR. He drives me insane and makes me really uncomfortable. I thought I'd be free from him at Sak but I suppose that's not the case *SIGH!*. Oh definitely. I'll be sure to fill you in on the details when it gets closer to that time. I'm planning on wearing my Soviet Russia and my Viking Norway cosplay. Maaaybe an alternate version of Norway as well but I'm still thinking of what would be a good idea other than a viking version.

Sandro: You probably aren't as willfully socially tone deaf as I am, but I still think it'd make your life easier to make it clear to him that you have problems with his behavior.
Are you redoing cosplays? 'Cause if you are and your workload is light, you could start working on stuff for farther future cons.

Guys, I just saw the Sak countdown on their front page. It said 200 days, and I still went ;LAJSFDASLKJFAS WHYYYY HOW WILL I FINISH IN TIME.

We've all made it obvious for him, but he still doesn't get it and comes each time :[
because I'm not the only one with the issues with him.
The only one I'm re-doing is Soviet Russia which I did at K-con. Norway is new and I am collecting materials for my Kuroshitsuji cosplay. I'll be doing a lot of collecting this summer <3

I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL! Especially since I want to try to sew my viking costume ;n;!!!

goatchild: Well, the only really cool one is going to be the viking version. I was thinking of doing the outfit that Norway had on in his anime appearance (just a casual attire) and possibly another casual one that I see him wear in a lot of fanart in which he has a white button up shirt with blue vertical stripes and a tie. If anyone has some really cool ideas for an alternate version I will definitely look into it <3 but otherwise they're kind of blah. haha

and that picture is adorable.

Scandinavia and the World~! A wonderful comic focused on the Nordic nations, written by a Dane. The comic starts at the end of the gallery, the most recent comics being at the beginning. It's fantastic and definitely worth the time it takes to read all them. X3

Nothing is funny right now because I aaaache.

Naru: Oh yeah! I have a friend that always dresses in either traditional Scottish attire or Victorian era outfits. He makes them all himself! :o
But yeah, whenever I go to competitions I have to wear the full attire. They actually won't let you perform if you don't wear a kilt and all the other stuff ^^;

Auricle: Well, I'm so blah with everything else I might as well play something different XD. I was actually dared to record a video of me playing a jig in my Russia cosplay (because the person who dared me thought it would be hilarious) but whenever I recorded it it didn't pick up the audio well and it just sounded whiney. But if I can ever get a good recording I shall send it your way <3.

I also want to see Malaria fence :O

I love that picture!!!

Aww, I still think it would be cool to see ^^

That's one of the reasons why my friends have pressured me to do a cosplay of a Scotland from Hetalia, so I have an excuse to play my pipes at K-con/Sakuracon. But I would be too afraid of ruining/losing them.

asljdf;lakj HOW ARE YOU SO COOL? <333 No one ever thinks about how much Bollywood Russians had/have on the brain. You can see the influences in all the ridiculous, brightly colored spectacle, especially their weeeird CGI New Year's specials.

I'm a firm believer in "sometimes heritage is not so much the best." I wasn't going to go as Ukraine ever, and there's not like there's an Ashkenazim. Austria might actually be the closest thing, though.

Oh I know! Which is why I did it (not to mention I'm in love with Bollywood, Indian food, Indian religion, Indian music, culture, you name it.) I wanted to sing a song too but got too embarrassed (because singing is a lot more embarrassing than dancing for some reason...? haha) I thought no one would get it though. But I'm glad you do! :D

Yeah, it's true. I mean, I'm not saying being Scottish is bad, it's just...not what I prefer. I usually always want to be something completely opposite of what I am. Haha~

Haha, I kinda doubt anyone would get it if they didn't have the whole cultural immersion thing going for them.

I've got nothing against my heritage, but I've got no interest in the Hetalia portrayal. I also didn't want to spend any time with Russias. The common fandom portrayal him galls me. Hurrhurr kolkolkol pipesmash I like to creep and demand everyone's attention.

I was actually planning on Jimmy Aaja. I would have sung Teri Ore, but there was no one to do a duet with me. Haha~
Yeah no kidding. It was just fun to do, I didn't expect anyone to get it :3

Oh I know what you mean. I don't always like the Hetalia portrayal of him either. I think he would be a fairly level-headed individual but they sometimes make him, well, scary. Not always, but sometimes. Since we're on the subject, I also hate that, although Scotland doesn't have an official character sketch yet, he is mentioned by Himaruya as an older brother to England that always bullies him. Uuuh, have you studied the history, sir? It was England that "bullied" Scotland. The various fights against them were horrendous. The Scots merely fought back as self defense. I could write an essay about how much that bugs me but I'll stop there.

I would learn it, but I am terrible at singing. I can't even keep in key.

They strip all the subtlety and relatability out of him, which almost no other nation has to deal with. 3:

Not to mention it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to sound like an Indian woman. Dear lord...
Speaking of which I just found a Russian version of Jimmy Aaja. Hehe

Yeah :[ Poor Russia...

Psh, I mean, they only fought against two people: The English and the Norwegians. The English because they were trying to own all of what they considered "their island." And the Norwegians because they took a lot of their islands, that ended on friendly terms though and the two countries are friends to this day. They're not bullies by far. England is the bully if anything...
Ok, I'll stop there XD

They did, and people seem to forget that.

What actually really bugs me sometimes about the Hetalia fandom is when they portray England as this vulnerable, uke-like character. I mean, it's ENGLAND, have you check out their history?! They are far from that, believe me...

Thats how it is with a lot of fandoms though, not just hetalia. XD The fact that is is countries and not just characters is harder to swollow though.
Heh, England was one of the most powerful nations on the planet at one time.
Its kind of depressing seeing him be a hallucinating magician.

On another note, found this old picture, edited it a bit and thought I would post it for the sake of love for Malaria's face.

8D I just liked the idea, of my favorite countries being characters.
^^; it all seemed so innocent until it got obnoxious.
:) A good amount of the characters I still and always will love though. <3 Prussia and spain for example. XD Its the people that actually make it historicly accurate that I love.

Malaria: I know what you mean >,<

Naru: I find it pretty entertaining. Though the historically inaccurate parts bug me a bit. Though what can really kill a series are some of its fans and unfortunately, that's the case with Hetalia. Not all fans, of course, but there are some that just make you go, "GUUUUUUH!!"

@Sandro- 8D that "GUUUUH!" was my reaction this year for sure. heh. I would also like to say, that when I look at your Avi, I think of Lelouch from Code Geass, you just have what I would consider to be, the look for him. Which is lucky for you, because he's one of my favorite characters. <3
:9 Just thought I would share that with you.

Naru: Me too! Oh lord. There was one person that was behind us in the registration line that kept on screaming and they saw a Hetalia character in a maid outfit and they kept on yelling "HETALIA! MAID COSTUME! HETALIIIIIAAAA!" and I wanted to slap them XD;;
Thank you! Actually, that IS a Lelouch wig. I ended up using it for my Akito Sohma cosplay (which is the cosplay in the picture.) hehe

@sandrobotticelli: Oh god how can you still hear they must have been loud. Hetalia has became the new naruto I think. I haven't seen hetalia cosplayers at my school yet but today there was a full on naruto cosplayer with a wig and fish net.

Sandro- XD Lelouch was one of my first cosplays, I hope to redo him one of these days. ^^; the cosplay it self is fine, I just need to tweak it.
:o Last halloween, Saya was Maid Canada, but it was mainly because she didn't have money for another costume. ^^;;

Saya: They were! I was so mad. I was reading a book, well I should say TRYING to read a book and I just wanted to shove it in their mouth. Uuugh x.x
I saw a Naruto cosplayer at my COLLEGE. I mean college? REALLY?!

Naru: Awww do you have pictures? Sorry if I sound like a creeper but I really love Code Geass <3.
That makes sense. I bet it was cute though. If I ignore the fact that they're representing countries the maid costumes can be somewhat adorable (depending on the maid outfit, I guess I should say.)
