Today has been about how much my sewing machine hates me. And how bad an idea putting facing into the shirt was. The family is never allowed to help me make anything ever again.

I kind of gave up on stitching for the night and am cutting out the parts for the accessories, but have temporarily retreated to the internet to read tutorials on dealing with fake leather because if I screw this up my brain might just explode from hatred.

I imagine I am going to spend Friday morning sewing furiously and snapping at anyone that tries to talk to me.

The wig is almost-almost done. Hashi picked up the last extension we need so we can smooth out the overall look of the bun, and once that's done I can figure out what the headband is gonna look like.
That wig head and I communed very deeply. I trepanned it very carefully with that wig pin.

I'm happy with my shoes so far. They're really comfortable too, which is awesome since I'm making them from scratch. Silly firenation has weird shoes. I should post progress pics of everything else but I'm too lazy and I was taking pictures of the shoes anyway to document the process. (It's working really well and there's a good chance I'll need to do this again at some point.)

Hahaha, the shoes were so compliant and wonderful, but the stupid bootcovers are like NO WE REFUSE. I'll be very sad if they look like sh** because they'll take away from my awesome shoes. (I also tried to put my trim on without pressing it. That was not a good idea.)

(also I won't have a certain headpiece finished, but the rest of my pjs are done. It's being uncooperative and I don't have time to fix it because bootcovers are more important.)

I hate it. It would've been a lot nicer if I had been allowed to use fabritac. But because my mother is involved, fabritac is verboten.

Bootcover #1 has been beaten into submission. Now just one more... hopefully this one will go quicker now that I know what I'm doing (sort of). They're not going to be beautiful but at this point I'm aiming for finished-and-not-unbearably-hideous.

...I don't know if I'll be able to improve them much for Sak. They've been permanently scarred by ghettofab, unless someone knows how to remove hot glue residue. And I don't have enough fabric to completely remake them.

Okay Hashi, I should be able to get there 5-6 at the latest. (I'll text when I'm on the way.) Bootcovers can't possibly take that long... and I'll need to stop by Kinko's to make button copies at some point tonight.

Just dropping by to say, once again, that I had a blast hanging out with you all. It made the tiny con super awesome. <3

Also! Felix! I actually just remembered that I took progress pictures of my Zuko swords (for everything besides the painting, anyway), so I'll try and get a mini-tutorial up sometime in the next day or so, once my brain turns on again. But if you go shopping before I finish, here's what you should pick up: four pieces of balsa wood, each long enough for the blades + the handles (I didn't write down the measurements, but I pretty much just grabbed the longest and thickest pieces they had -- which wasn't very long or thick at all); wood glue; sandpaper; shiny shiny paint; annnd an exacto knife. You probably won't be able to recreate the super-ghetto process with which I made the handles, since it pretty much involved flailing around the store going "WHAT CAN I USE FOR THIS, AAAAH" Buuut I'm sure you guys can come up with something equally good. XD
