Sir, I would like to remind you that the head of your nation is a holy cleric. You have no room to complain about superstition.

I'm kind of stuck. I pinned everything but I forget how the bobbin winder works and I'm not mad enough to do it by hand. I miss the berninas... (and I will even more when it's time to hem the sleeves and trouser legs.)

IT'S OKAY AURICLE USUAL SLEEP CYCLES ARE A FOREIGN CONCEPT TO ME.

Maybe I'll, uh, tea-stain my bias tape or something.

(are we still maybe having a costume party this weekend?)

After a very interesting weekend of watching Pushing Daisies and and Futurama and Aqua Teen Hunger Force at my friend's house in Seattle, camping, and getting even MORE sunburnt that I already am I still have done nothing costume-wise. Another friend and I were talking about what we had done so far for Kcon and she was talking about how she's almost finished with her Big Sister cosplay (from Bioshock 2) and I was like, "Yeah, I still haven't started anything" she just stared at me in shock. I am now a little panicked. At least Rosa will be pretty easy (since I can buy everything but her vest and pants no prob), as will War. Since Katara and Hungary will not be. At least, for me.

But anyway. I'm shortly going to begin so no worries.

Felix: I'm assuming swimminghole!Katara is naked!Katara? THAT SOUNDS SO MUCH EASIER

And

Felix: I bet the internet could tell you how to wind your bobbin.

Jaqua: You could probably put off War? I dunno when I'm getting Pepper done, and the Good Omens shoot seems to be in a nebulous sort of "eeeeeh whatever" space. That's one less cosplay!
D'you plan to get wigs for Katara and Hungary?

have a picture!  The plus side is that you could make it in about five seconds from an old bedsheet or something. The bad side is that, as Yagi said, you'd have to paint your entire body. (it's less naked than I remembered but that's still a lot of paint. I don't know how the paint works but there's always the risk it would rub off and stain the white cloth.)

Rubbing off isn't a major issue. We've got setting powder that keeps the makeup where it should go. The problem is that the makeup is expensive and not super easy to apply well.

I was mostly joking about swimminghole!Katara xDDD BUT NOW YOU'VE GOT ME THINKING THAT I ACTUALLY WANT TO DO IT and I'm so tan right now that I could probably go without makeup at all lolol (again, mostly joking)

Unrelated, but I'm watching the World Cup final again because I'm still depressed it's over
and I'm still depressed on behalf of Fernando Torres because he didn't get to play in the final
and oh man I'm reminded of how much I LOVE THE SPANISH TEAM SO EFFING MUCH

... Should I? Because hell, I totally will, and I'll just use it as an excuse to make myself extremely tan (thankfully my legs at least get really dark with little effort)! And then I'll really just need to make my face and arms darker which wouldn't be that hard!

As for the wig question which I didn't answer earlier, due to lack of money (which correlates suspiciously with the abnormally large number of books I seem to have acquired over the last few months) I'm thinking I'll just use my real hair for Hungary and War, then buy wigs for Katara and Rosa. And since I was planning on using a lot of stuff I already own for War I'm not too worried about her. (and I know Hungary's hair isn't red but since it changes so much in fanart I can get away with it right? :|)

Another unrelated point, but today I saw Inception. And it reminded me of The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, mostly just because I had the same reaction while watching both: slight bewilderment that built steadily into a feeling of "THIS IS THE BEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN". I think everyone should see it. It's so amazing. SO AMAZING. Plus Joseph Gordon Levitt is just so pretty.

Why are all of my posts so long.

This is a ramblebasket. Long posts are to be expected.

STOP BUYING THEM UNTIL YOU READ THE ONES YOU HAVE ALREADY. D8<

(are we still doing good omens this year? not that it should be any trouble for me to get the costume together.)

I think timefuckness is irrelevant at this point.

I would actually love to have that fang-making party before Yaoicon, so I can mess around with making bottom canines for werewolf!Sokka. |D

On the topic of Good Omens, I'd be okay with doing it right after Kcon instead of right before. That way we don't have to worry about it during crunch time, and we'll hopefully all still be around for at least a few days after Kcon, right?

I guess if I get everything done early I'll have time to hunt around for a pair of overalls and do the horrid amount of work Pepper wig's going to require.

I'm out of town 18 to 22nd, and the 17th and 23rd are probably out as well since we'll have relatives over.

I could get good omens together pretty easily. I just need to buy the clothes secondhand and dye/curl my hair. and I still need to finish reading it because I'm LAME.

AND I MADE PROGRESS! The shirt and trousers are mostly done; I need to hem them and fix the sleeves because they're weird. I'm also teastaining my bias tape. Then I have to pattern more... ick. (I also got my brother addicted to AtLA so we're watching it. pseudo-progress?)

Hopefully I'll still have time for steampunk after this... maybe I will have to be England again. (I haven't worn the coat all summer so maybe I'll feel a little less lame using it as a costume again?)

Aw; so no Yagi for my little birthday party? :[ We will miss you.

On an ironic note, I get back from New York super late on the 19th (like, 11:59 late) so this means that as soon as I get back you have to leave. Somehow this feels like a nationwide game of touch-and-go. 8D QUICK, SOMEBODY GO TO NEW MEXICO. It will keep the ray pattern we have going! XD

What would you need for a fang-making party, supply-wise?

I'm almost done with the shirt and pants. Part of it depends on whether I decide to cross-stitch the sleeve-hems. It'd look a lot nicer but I really hate cross-stitching. (I had to do my sleeves over too... don't feel bad.)

I'm free except on the dates I mentioned in the last post which I'm too lazy to look up again. 11.59? Late?

I should probably come wig-shopping too. I also need more trim for stupid reasons.

Wig shopping tomorrow then? I'm free. And READY FOR WIGS. I went fabric shopping yesterday and have everything for Hungary, and I've got almost everything for Rosa... Now I just have to figure out what I'm doing for Katara, and boogiepop convinced me I should join her Scott Pilgrim group as either Stacy Pilgrim or Lynette (but that's easy since it's street clothes, effectively, and painting a bionic arm on myself for Lynette), and after that I'm DOOOOOOOOOONE. And that thought is such a food feeling.

Work party = so much yes. How about some time Mon 16th - Wed 18th? I know I'll be in Tillamook for at least this Saturday, but I could be back by Sunday if that works better for everyone else. If not, then I'll see ya'll when I get back I guess. : x

Speaking of which, before I go to Mississippi, I need to get a really tiny hook and some lace that the hook will fit through. The only things I could think of to look for were latch hooks or possibly crochet hooks. Anyone know of any other kind of itty bitty hooks I could buy here in Portland before I leave? Also, any places I could buy really small amounts of plain, simple lace, or similar sheer fabrics? I was thinking of looking at what kinds of trim they have at Joann's, cuz I know I can buy that in small sections.

Jaqua, if you plan to buy Katara wig before Thursday the 20th, you should totally let me know when so I can come with you and buy a hair extension for Sokka. (And maybe they can even kind of match?? 8D)

Yagi~ I might have a really tiny crochet hook you can borrow. I'll have to check. but I'm pretty sure my mom has crochet hooks of just about every size under the sun.

A while back I got a few bags of interesting trims, ribbons, and lace from Goodwill. We've been scanning and cataloging them, would you like to see what lace we have? There's some pretty cool stuff in there~ ' w '

Oh, and I have tomorrow and thursday free (free days are not often nowadays), anyone want to hang out or something? : 3

Tomorrow is iffy. I could probably do Thursday.

I like work party. In some ideal world I'd already have my base clothes done for Toph by then and would be doing details/accessories, but you never know how bad I might be sucking.

@Auricle: Would you happen to have any plain lace, and hooks tiny enough to fit through the holes in said lace? Cuz if so, I will love you forever and probably make you something awesome in thanks because it totally warrants it.

I have class until 5pm both tomorrow and Thursday, not that ya'll have to plan around me. But if you happen to make plans after then, I'd love to join you in whatever shenanigans you're up to. : D

Eh, maybe thursday isn't such a good idea afterall (Tomorrow isn't looking good either). I finally got the greenlight for having Hashi over for wood cutting time, so I don't want to bother you guys or my parents too much. ' w ';

I scanned the lace we have, here's the link to the pictures: http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a75/auriclesis/Trims/

I'll check our crochet hooks in the morning, when I don't have to sneak past sleeping people to get them. X3

@Kero: I'm sorry, I kept thinking I commented verifying that I can't come, but apparently I didn't. >.<;; So yes, I will be out of town for your birthday bonanza. : ( Maybe I can draw you something while I'm in Mississippi and give it to you at Kcon? Any characters/pairings/groups you'd like? : D

@Auricle: You're amazing, I love you. <33 The third one in the fourth picture with the flowery edge might work, assuming the other half is as plain as I think it is, but I'm thinking the holes might be too tiny. : x I can look at it when me and Hashi come over for the wood cutting (I am Hashi's official pack mule XD). If it is too small, then thank you anyway for being so fabulous! *huuuuuugs* And you don't have to worry about the hook, cuz I just realized I can mutilate my cheap needle threader into an itty bitty hook. Hooray for ghetto fab improv! Also I'd feel bad if I lost your hook in the jungle that is Mississippi and my relatives' houses. >> But thank you so much reguardless! <333~
