Yeahhh I bought a pair once and it's just too much of a pain to keep them nice and it cost me a lot of money that ended up just going down the drain. And it's just the fear of putting things in my eyes, I couldn't do it, I tried... Never again...

I tried wearing perscription contacts once and my brain was like WHOA DETAIL OVERLOAD. (I'm so used to being partially blind that the detail made my brain overheat.) I'd probably be fine with regular lenses though.

Also Felix I think Sunday'll work... Possibly. I might have something going that day :/ but even if I do maybe I can come over later and we can still work on stuff even if we can't go to JoAnn's. I brought all my Rosa stuff over from my dad's house at least. But hopefully we'll be able to go get something. Because being able to work on Katara would be really nice.

@Jaqua: the problem with that is that I won't have much to do if we don't go to JoAnn's. 8I (or anyplace I can find a mod-able toy gun for steampunk.... I WANT TO PLAY WITH OLD STUFF.) I'm going to try to talk my mum into taking me to scrap tomorrow so I can look for fabric and other awesome steampunky things. And also my Aang boots.

If you want random metal steampunk dodads to add to your gun, try Hippo Hardware on SE Burnside and 11th. If you tell them you're looking for little metal bits to make jewelry etc, they'll let you down into the basement where all their random appliance parts and broken objects are. And for the gun I'd try Halloween Warehouse (unless you already did).

news on the Germans shoot: Andy's getting through them at a good clip and should be done pretty soon. She said she left in some derpy shots for us to laugh at.

Also, if y'all still want to go to the Cliks, it's the 18th. Tickets are in $10 in theory, but they're actually $12 due to service charges if you buy them at Safeway. $12 also happens to be the door price, so it's really a matter of when you wanna get the tickets. I'd get them early just in cases.

WE HAVE PROGRESS. 8D
We bought things for my Steampunk and fabric for Katara. what is this jaqua made progress and it's not even the week before the con. I redid my shin mock-up and made the gaitor/Aangboot pattern and we've patterned Katara's dress thing and cut the top part. And I dyed the bias tape for the firenation school uniform. (This summary is so scatterbrained and I'm probably forgetting something. We also need to go to sleep so we can get things done tomorrow and not sleep all day so I'll stop now.)

I've spent pretty much all of the last two days working on costumes. 8D;
hopefully I can sew the trim on my steampunk vest and Aang tunic before sewing the sideseams because I can't tell where to seam them without my binder. (boobs suck. they make everything harder.) I should be able to make it work. I should start my gaitors and bootcovers but I really don't feel like it right now. I CAN DO IT TOMORROW BECAUSE I LIKE CUTTING THINGS CLOSE.

haha, this pattern does have huge arm holes, but I think it works, it makes it comfier. At least when I do motions like swinging Jet's swords, the large holes are nice.
