Russia is pretty random when you have all the Germanic people, Hungary and North Italy who actually socialize with each other in the anime/manga and Russia, well, doesn't. So it made complete sense and I honestly didn't mind it at all. Russia in general can be hard to work around and I had plenty of fun just watching you guys getting your shots and chit chatting~

So yeah, Kero. Uhh... I wanted fabrics with more texture, ie, not broadcloth. For the jacket I wanted a heavier material... I already have most of my fabric, actually. Which version are you doing? Does Astrid even have costume changes? In the timeline of the comic it really hasn't been that long since he was introduced, so maybe not... but you probably want his cape to be a heavier fabric, and use a darker red... I generally like to use more muted colours with costumes and Kiran's colours are pretty muted anyway, so you don't want to be blindingly bright next to me. But yeah... I guess you should send me a ref of what you're doing? That way I can help more.

Later on in the same dream I was dragged along to a Hetalia panel and forced to take Auricle's cosplay of N. Italy and wear it. All the fans in there were freaking out. But I did actually wear Auricle's N Italy wig! XD I cosplayed Mafia N Italy to the Kumori Ball this last year, and I'm borrowing it again for the first day of Mew.

It's very surreal looking in a mirror and seeing someone wearing her wig and being like BRITANY and then realizing that it's me.

Oh! and the icelandic sagas are.. good but differ drastically depending on the translation in terms of.. social rules, and how blatant the original writings were regarding 'less than proper' acts if you catch my drift (aka a lot of englishmen who first translated it, blushed and skipped some scenes) but other than that, for the most part the sagas are really good. Gisli Sturlsson is one of my favourites (though his name is different in a lot of translations) for the most part if the saga title says something like Gisli, its the right one. Egil is the most famous by far but not my favourite. Saga of the Confederates or.. Vatsndal I beleive, is hilarious and reminds me a lot of a law and order type thing, because it deals with crimes and the viking equivalent of a court system, and its a comedy. Which rocks.

@Sandro: I keep wanting to taking the Turkey courses but they fill up so fast, however I did sign up for a course called Cities in Europe a Social Study, and its about the importance of well, cities in europe and some of the first major cities and how they operated, and I just saw its taught by Davidova! I think next term Im going to try harder for the course on the Ottoman Empire (I kind of bought the textbook already because it seemed interesting at the bookstore last term). Also, taking Danish didnt work out, so now Im looking for yet another language to take and Im thinking either Italian or Turkish or Greek, but alas, I need to wait until next year because of how PSU does things.

@Hashi: Oh really? Ahhh, now that sounds interesting! I actually started reading this book a while back, I can't quite recall the name, I think it might have just been as simple as The City which talked about the origins of major cities and civilizations; mainly the operation more than anything. I'll have to find it again, it was really interesting. My mom majored in Political Science and has several books dealing with the operation of cities, countries and their government (most of them she owns deal with Soviet countries.) Being a future Archaeologist I find the ones about ancient cities the most fascinating. Ha.
Italian is debatably my favorite language, but unfortunately it doesn't work for my area of interest (although I do like Italian archaeology and love studying the Italian renaissance.)
All three of those sound interesting. I know that Italy, moreso than the other two, has a lot more variety in their scholarships, at least from what I've come across. They also seem to have more study abroad programs, though Turkey and Greece have a bit as well. When I was looking for abroad programs in the British Isles all I saw were pages and pages of studying in Italy on the various sites I was looking at.  

Edit: Also, I will totally try to save up enough for that Ottoman empire class <3. I would love it. I wish I could take Ottoman Turkish too, but it's only offered in a handful of universities around the country *pout*

@Sandro: First off, sorry this is late! I was falling asleep so I decided to wait and reply until I was more awake. That book sounds absolutely fascinating though! I love Archaeology, its one of my potential future career goals (I have roughly 5, but most are International or Archaeological themed) One of the problems with College was I took too many classes so I dont know exactly what I want my career to be, I just know Im interested in a lot of things. Thankfully, most are in the same subject area. If there was a career where I could study the Sociology of Ancient Civilizations, or track the Silk Road, or have a career identifying old weapons, I would be absolute heaven. (I just got a book about the history of bladed weapons, and ive been drooling over it since i bought it)
To sum all that up, yeah, Im with you on the finding ancient cities more interesting.
From the sounds of it your planning to be a Turkish Archaeologist?, for lack of better wording on my part. It honestly sounds fascinating, but is there a particular timeframe youre more interested in or is more a middle eastern archaeology interest? I ask because it seems we share the same regional interests both in terms of northern europe and especially more south/mediterranean/middle eastern.

If I could get away with learning all 3 languages I would, but somehow I dont see that happening anytime soon. Ive been re-looking into study abroad opportunities, and your right they do have a lot for Italy, but seeing as my Denmark plans didnt work out, Im going to take more time in planning, and more likely, only go for one tern or even find a summer program possibly. The main problem is a lot of the programs are art focussed, and Im looking at more anthropological or archaeology focussed. PSU has a great Greece program, however the program takes place in the dangerous part of Athens so Im somewhat hesitant to go, dangerous being as in, terrorist groups targeting tourists and study abroad students with goals to get greece to stop being a tourist destination. Normally it wouldnt stop me, but the building the program uses is right in the middle of the 'bad' district. 

The Ottoman Empire class I think is under History, but I can check again. Im hoping its offered next term.
