Heads up- I'm not into shooters. Well, maybe.

I'm already planning on getting Heavy Rain, I have FF XIII for the 360, I have Assassin's Creed 2 for the 360, and I hate sports games with a passion.

And that is it for the limitations! Anybody have a great game name I need to play~?

If you are into comics Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is fun.

Infamous is a nifty nitty gritty super power game.

Little Big Planet is a cute and fun platformer. I don't know, lots of good stuff out there.

This list could go so much longer but I am at work lol...there's a good start though. I have somewhere around 40 games for my PS3 so I can't even think of them all lol.

It's much more than you think a cheasy anime game is. Lots of us know that the companys dont work so hard on anime games....Plus it's sort of hard because they are adapting it from the anime and manga. But this time.....they took a step above. ( FINALLY.)

It's awesome. I cant wait for Shippuden to come out. THAT MEANS COMBOS! ( no button mashing) and more RPG. Has to have better RPG.

You should get a Game Informer subscription as well...if you don't already have one. They are like $15 at Game Stop & you get an Edge Card with it. L.A. Noire is coming out this fall...also looks like it's going to be amazing.

Seconding Valkyria Chronicles.

..E-Eternal Sonata is good, but it's very happy and lighthearted (up until the end) so I don't know if that's your cup of tea? Super fun though, and I love the battle system.

I second this...that game is awsome. In my opinion, it saved the series from its demise...I own one of the older games...not good...just not that good lol.

I've been enjoying Borderlands a lot. I've also been enjoying Mobile Suit Gundam: Battlefield Record U.C. 0081, though that's a Japanese import, and you'd have to know your way around the original Mobile Suit Gundam to really get the gist of the story if you don't speak Japanese.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was an amazing game. Star Wars: The Force Unleashes is fun too-- Force Unleashed II is coming out sometime this year as well.

I also enjoyed Mirror's Edge, though that might only be worth a rental...

My recommendations:

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition
-It's RE5, with all current DLC, for like $50. Not a bad deal. Inversely, you could try getting a used RE5 for $20, and buy all the DLC for like $10-$15.

White Knight Chronicles
-This is the big one. It's basically a mix between FFXI/FFXII and Monster Hunter.. lots of FF/RPG style free roaming.. no wipe to battle, it's all done on the field.. customizable player character(all the main storyline characters look the same, you customize your own character that's a background character in storymode, but is the only character you play as when participating in the 1-4 player online missions). Next, online missions.

Rock Band 2
-It's expensive to get the bundle, but the game is awesome.. and there's tons of great DLC songs.

Grand Theft Auto 4
-They just released the 2 DLC expansions on PS3.. therefore, PS3 users have a reason to play this again.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
-Best Star Wars thing we have for PS3, until The Force Unleashed 2.

Those are the top choices I'd suggest for buying.

Alot of other games suggested, might be good rentals.. particularly Naruto games. Ultimate Ninja Storm wasn't that great, the last 1-2 PS2 titles were better.

Get 3D Dot Game Heroes. 40$ new. Best. Game. Ever.

It's an homage to old school action games (IE: Zelda). It's done in an 8 bit style, but 3D. Feels like if you took NES Zelda, and made it 3D. It's freaking retro as all hell, and amazing as well

I, for one, am shocked nobody mentioned Uncharted. It's a fantastic action/adventure game with plenty of shooting and platforming. Actually, the best part about the game is that it's platforming done right for once. You never lose momentum, and it's always exciting leaping almost effortlessly along walls and over chasms.

Another one, if you're into hardcore, super difficult action rpgs, is Demon's Souls. It's a third person game that takes a lot of skill and even more patience, but you feel awesome every time you succeed in it.
