I actually went ahead and redrew that design you posted and made it male, and a little more con-safe (large wings and sharp tail not a good idea at small cons ^^;). I'll uploud it soon.

Well, I wanted to just start out with a gathered rectangle skirt for a meetup (that I ended up not going to anyway). So I took my measurements, measured the fabric PERFECTLY, like 8 times. Then cut it and sewed it and whatnot, tried it on, and it was TOO BIG. So I made it smaller, tried it on again, and The waist was too big, but it was SUPER DUPER tight on my hips. It was like, an upside-down gathered skirt (except i didn't make it upside-down). And I apparently don't know how to add elastic to these things.
Hooray incompetence.

Pretty much the same, but as you can see, I changed the wings to be a cape-like thing and the tail is a sword, which you can have or not.

And here's my design for Zorua~

I got the wig, ears, gloves and shorts, and maybe the shirt right now. I just need to get the stuff for the ponytail and then the boots mainly.

Looks great. Its nice to know that you all have good artistic skills. A good idea looks really bad when the quality of the sketch is poor.
So, props to you Nekovamp.

Is that shirt really male? Ive never seen a shirt for guys that leaves the stomach exposed. Looks cool, though.

Making the wings into more of a cape makes it much easier to design. Good idea.

I like everything about it. However, I will keep the tail as a tail. Using it as a sword will lead to problems.... (safety, rules etc)

So is that Zorua gijinka what your going to do?

Again, however you'd like it ^^ You're the one wearing it, so you should make it how you want.

And yes, that's the Zorua cosplay I'm doing.
Funny, it was after I colored the eyes red that I remembered that their eyes are blue ^^;

Oh no, dont get me wrong. I love the look entirely. I'd just never seen that kind of shirt for boys before. I like it though.

Now if only I hadnt bought my Luxray costume already.... I would swap for this one in a heart beat. lol

BUT, on the flip side, I have no idea how I would make ANY of that costume.

I assume I could buy the shirt. And I know I can buy the pants.
I would make the tail out of cardboard and wrap it in tin foil for the metal look.

But as for the feet, head piece, and wings, I have no clue.
Any tips or ideas?

Wings, you could just use fabric. That's what I would use. Maybe put wire in it so it would stay out.
As for the armor, foam is an amazing thing ^^

Foam eh? I had that in mind, but it was a completely different foam. lol That works better it would seem.

Still, Im not sure if this will work for the head piece. I'll read it completely later. (too tired to read paragraphs) lol

Fabric for the wings/cape is the best choice, I agree. But it will need wire or something to give it a little shape and structure.
Is there any wire I could get other then just destroying a clothes hanger?

Regular wire. All hardware type stores have it in coils.

It would make the helmet a lot lighter, but I think paper mache would work the best. You should ask Nikki about that, since that's what she did with her Marowak cosplay.

Ah yeah. Paper Mache! The best in light weight material that also holds shape. Messy though. But if it works, then Im game.
