I think two big reasons photo shoot times change up until the last minute are:

1. If there's no print deadline, the people organizing them CAN change the day/time at the last minute, so they do.  If they had a deadline, they'd be less fickle.  And...

2. Since Programming doesn't consider photo shoot times when scheduling its other events, photo shoot organizers end up wanting to work their photo shoot around the official schedule once they find out what's going on.

Yeah, there's not much that can be done about either of these problems. I just wanted to point it out for the record.

The whiteboard's the most important thing in my opinion.  As long as there's a fail-safe option for obtaining accurate information, I'm happy.

Okay, I will try to figure out a better location than Pioneer Square for ours. I don't think I've been there, but everybody had touted it as THE place to go for photo shoots. Guess it isn't, at least not this year.


Nyahaha:

You could also meet somewhere near the hotel and walk to somewhere else.  Sounds like people might get lost in the shuffle if they have to find Pioneer Square and then migrate to yet another location.

Nikkiolie did that on her own last year, and I must admit, it was a great idea! I'm not sure how I would go about getting it up there, but I could make copies of the schedule as well as put one of them in a picture frame or something like they had.

since i'm part of the registration staff, i could have some of those flyers at the registration table. i'll ask bryan and the rest of the reg. staff if that's okay :3

Last year Nikki contacted me about putting them in the pocket guide.  But, since they are not official events, they don't really belong in it (plus, they are usually changing up until con, and we need to print the schedule much earlier than that.)  That is why we compromised - Nikki had the schedule finalized by a certain date, and I had the schedule available at Info Desk.

I have not been contacted about it this year... if the organizer wants to talk about a similar setup, email programming@kumoricon.org and we can chat  ;)

It is very doubtful that photoshoots will ever be part of the pocket schedule.. the con does not control them, they are unofficial meetups (and no offense, but I have enough of a headache just dealing with panels :D). Having the schedule available at photobooth is the best we can offer.

And Ally was correct... you are going to need to take another look at some of your meetup places.  Pioneer Square is not going to be a viable option, what with the events going on there.  And guys, we don't mean to sound mean or anything, but photoshoots in the Main Lobby of the hotel and on Plaza level will not be allowed.  The hotel is requiring that the lobby be kept as clear as possible, and there is just too much going on up on the Plaza level.  And, before you ask.. the Ballroom lobby will be off limits as well.  Your best bet is going to be Director's Park, which is why we are looking at securing rights to the place.

Yup what she said. Something that you might be able to do is print out a list and give it to the info booth day 1 or day 0 shanime_panda

That's what I'm planning for. I'll set a deadline soon so that no last minute changes can be made, and will bring print-outs as well as a framed/standing list of the schedule for info booth in the early morning of Day 1 (and by early I mean around 8 )

I'll add the bit about Pioneer Square to the front page. Hopefully people will change their minds.

I'm pretty sure they are the same place. It just depends on what map you're using because I know the map here on the website says Fountain Plaza but others say South Park Blocks.

I've been saying South Park Blocks because it makes more sense to me, but I'll put parentheses next to each one saying "aka Fountain Plaza"

It has maps, the history, and generally more than you ever wanted to know. The park blocks run along between 9th and Park Street (replaces 10th), which is 3 or 4 blocks west of the hotel. There is a fountain, as well as a bunch of other cool stuff depending on how far down you are.

D.Gray-man - Saturday. Meet at the Starbucks in Pioneer square at 1:00, then move to the First Presbyterian Church on 12th and Morrison at 1:15 for the photoshoot.

The "One Piece '10" thread seems a little dead, but I suppose we can always revise the meet time, right?

As of now, can I please request:

One Piece- Sunday at 8:00 am, meet in the lobby, we might move elsewhere later.

So, quick question:  when you say Lobby/2nd floor Lobby, are you planning on meeting there, or is that where your photoshoot is?  Because there really isn't the space for it, especially on the Main Lobby... we have to keep that area clear.

Well, I meant just meeting there. I don't expect the One Piece group will be very large, so it shouldn't cause much of an issue. We'll probably relocate elsewhere.
