but this person wants to buy them for $3,000 should i sell them? if i do then that means i may not be cosplaying jack sparrow at kumoricon this year

That's definitely a tough predicament. if you think you can make it all again before the con, then go for it! But if you can. Try to ask them if they'd still be willing to buy it after the convention, because if they say they will then that's a win win right there!
