TANABATA FESTIVAL AT JAPANESE GARDENS!!!

One of Japan's most heavily celebrated festival, Tanabata, will be celebrated at the Portland Japanese Gardens on July 11.  The event will be from 12 to 3.  It's gonna be FUN!!!

I don't get why they can't hold it at night, or on the 7th, or both >-o

I think the lack of night has something to do with turnouts; I don't know on that one.

As for the 11th instead of the 7th is quite simple: they have their major holiday stuff take place on the Sunday prior.  This example, however, is the Sunday after, due to Independence Day.
