I work in a produce department.  I'm a student, too.  I generally enjoy my job.  Right now everything is really busy and I am starting to feel worn down and frustrated.  But, I generally have a good relationship with all the customers that come in and I have a few customers that always will come and talk to me if they see me. ^_^

I take it you're fresh! You cad.

My job is pretty much the same job I had while in the navy. I just don't float around in circles. Management is a bit different. Here scapegoating, and work aversion is more normal.

I'm a courtesy clerk at a SAFEWAY grocery store. I carry out people's groceries, bag groceries, clean up messes, bring in grocery carts, bring back lost groceries, and clean the garbnages every now and again. The beauty of it is that I've got a union the UFCW Local 555 watching my back. UNIONS ROCK!!!

I work for BWC, which is a lumber milling company in Central Oregon/New Zealand. Before the economy crash, we were the 2nd largest employer in all of Central Oregon...not sure where we stand now after all the lay-offs but I think we are still up there. I am a supervisor in the cut-plant department of our Redmond site. Too much to list for my job duties so I'll make it simple...I'm second in command for running the show. I manage a crew of 25 people to process lumber to either send to another plant to add another process to it, or directly to the customer.

Nothing exciting...it's hard work, dirty, stressful, very labor intensive & a time robber. Summer time is when it becomes a time robber...I typically work 57+ hours a week all summer. But all that aside, it's steady work & it pays decently. I have been in this business for almost 8 years & when my boss retires in 2 more years, they have already guaranteed me the manager position. Makes it hard to try & leave >.>

I've been working at a 'Jack in the Box' for almost a year now (Yikes! it doesn't feel like it's been that long!) It's not a glamorous job, and of course I have to spend all day dealing with hordes of annoying costumers who treat me like I'm an idiot for working fast food (being belittled by people less intelligent than you can get old really fast...) but it's not that bad.

Before that I worked a job at a local movie theatre for a bit but it was absolutely horrible and the workers were SO mean to each other so I left, then I worked briefly at a Best Buy in the Video Game section but was only getting like 8-10 hours a week so I left.

My co-workers at 'Jack in the Box' are all pretty chill, and my boss is hilarious which is awesome. The job also works really well with my school schedule, and my boss is really flexible with helping me get days off when I have to (I normally work weekends, so for cons I have to get time off.) I'll likely only be working there for about 6 more months since I'll be leaving to work on my Bachelors Degree, but for now I'm happy enough there.

^Because people are big meany faces? :D

Unfortunately, it seems that fast food workers and waitresses seem to get one of the biggest chunk of jerks. The time I spent at Sonic was my shortest job, but I had to deal with more stupid people in that month and a half the the rest of my work experience combined. I had to explain to people that, no, no one would come out to take their order, you have to push the red button. The button which had a sign right next to it that said "PUSH TO ORDER".

It's time to pick blackberries now isn't it? well blackcaps, then blackberries. They don't seem to grow green beans in Lane county as they used to, I guess.

It's time for me to take my readings for my job now. buh-bye.
Have Fun
