yes, i know it's a Star Trek reference, but they chose that name, and there's not much i can do about it

Realistically, the name doesn't matter at all. There are plenty of uber-popular bands with nonsensical names. Korn, for example.

Korn chose to go with that name, at least like this instead of Corn, because it seemed like how a child would write the word.  That's also why the "R" was originally capitalized and backwards.

Hearing that from you makes me much more confident in the name, considering the fact that you're part of the band. I was worried you wouldn't approve of that name and be disappointed

I think that now-a-days bands try to come up with odd, unorthodox names as a way to stand out more, or something like that.

Really though, it doesn't matter. There are much more important things to worry about in a band; mainly sounding good.

Agreed. The name is just to set you apart from other bands...The important thing is to actually be good...
