Hi, I'm one of the DJs spinning on Sunday's Dance this year and I'd thought I'd throw out this request thread.  I'm pretty open to playing anything danceable and fun, from house, video game soundtracks, anime tunes, industrial, trance, hip hop, j-pop, eurobeat, that song that was on those guys on youtube made that was so awesome or whatever.  So what do you want to dance to this year?  Mainly looking for artists and tracks as feedback but if you like to throw in genres or web pages go for it.

Ok, Daft Punk, Eiffel 65, Sandstorm, Ke$ha, XXX Holic, Neon Genesis, and Justice will definitely get some play time, keep the requests coming in and I'll keep loading my cases and download music for the show.

I'm retiring the disco mushroom hat in favor of the new and improved DiscoSnake DiscoMask.  It stays on much better and doesn't interfere with the headphones.

I feel like a geeky little red neck but I would love to see everyone in costumes stomping around to Cotton eye Joe!

As far as electronic/dance goes, I would strongly prefer Lady Gaga (i.e., "Just Dance", "Poker Face", "Bad Romance", etc.). Also, Shpongle, Younger Brother, and Rusko are always good for more instrumental tunes.

For J-Pop I would suggest JAY'ED (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Uj-ZdmztlU), Perfume, and AAA. My J-Rock picks would consist of LM.C, Alice Nine., and Miyavi.

Since Korean music is becoming popular among the K-con crowd I would say having some at the dance might not hurt either. As someone said, Super Junior's new album "Bonemana" is great for upbeat music. Big Bang or any other YG Entertainment group (i.e., Se7en, 2NE1) are pretty well known, and good for dances. MBLAQ and f(x) are a couple other good Korean bands as well.

OK just bought a Super Junior CD and it's on it's way.  I'll see if I can find some brown eyed girls locally. Lady Gaga check, Rhianna Check, Yatta Check, Cotton Eyed Joe check.  If you want to do the timewarp again who am I to stop you? I've got some bass hunter so that's not a problem.

I don't mind going a little industrial\goth at times although personally I own more of the synth pop side of things like Apoptygma Bezerk, VNV nation, And One, Wolfsheim, Covenant etc.  I'll work on getting more anime music and requests lined up.  In the mean time keep it coming and thanks,

Anime music, please.  I know there will be plenty of standard dance music, it's inevitable, but lately it's hard to get any actual anime/game music at your typical anime convention dance.  It's a little maddening if you remember the early 2000s, when they hardly played anything else and there were marvelous congo lines to Zankoku Na Tenshi No Teze or the Chocobo ROBO Voice song or similar.

(As far as actual dance music goes, the Cupid Shuffle or the Cha-Cha Slide or similar are always fun.  Stuff that gets people out of their Vaguely Shimmying Circles.  Stuff everybody can follow along to and have fun, regardless of advanced dancing ability.)

I'll definitely give you the Haddaway that's done and done. I'll bring Waltz of Flowers for the Ball before my Dance and see if I can't throw it on their play list.  I can't really get away with pure long stretches of classical without killing the floor or mixing it with something else and it's more suited for the formal ball anyway.  Now if you know of a snazzy remix I'm very much into classical remixed into dance music.  Such as:
