Cool thread~

I screw up a lot when I am trying to practice makeup for stuff...which is why I practice. But at that point I normally just kinda go with whatever I have and experiment a little.

I was trying to work on my makeup for Imitation Black Kaito...and kinda failed, which has happened the last three or four times I've tried to figure out what to do. Anyways, I just kept fiddling around, and came up with the idea pictured below. It makes me wanna cosplay Phantom of the Opera or something...too bad I probably won't and thus have really no use for this makeup. T__T

(No before pic, because I had so many layers of makeup on at this point, that once I washed it off my face was all red. >__> )

hey guys, testing out my makeup for CC,

Yes? No? Too much?

Maybe a little thinner on the bottom, CLAMP likes to do their eyes really thick on top and thin on the bottom....they also do her eyes in really natural tones in the original character sketches, but I kinda like the bit of green you put in there!

Ahahahaha, that happens to me too!

I don't know how I feel about all this makeup stuff lately, when I do wear it I usually just put on some mascara and call it good.

Ignore the wig I was showing it to a friend.

Before and after manly makeup. I don't have any really good pictures of me in girly makeup, but that'll change eventually.

AS YOU CAN SEE I HAVE CHANGED DRASTICALLY. Not even the same person. obvs.

This is just my basic makeup. I typically add more to different characters but it all starts out like this (though maybe no lipstick)

I think most of you look better without all the makeup on actually. xD Natural look for the win!

This isn't cosplay, but it shows just how drastic make up can change a person.
It's my before and after shots for the pageant.
My before shot was on a blah day where I really wasn't caring what I looked like. ^^; And it was raining outside so trying to look nice was pointless anyways.
They were taken by the hair salon that does all our hair stuff for the pageant. Make up was done by me though with my stage makeup. :P

I agree! I understand wearing makeup for cosplay and theatrical productions but too much makeup every normal day seems pointless to me.

I agree with Alyssa and Sahara. For theatre it's a must, and enhances cosplay, but people tend to look better on a day-to-day basis without it, in my opinion. Looks great for your cosplays, though, guys~

@dana: I know it's about make-up discussion. Not being anti-make-up. I commented on how good it looks and gave my opinion. And, in my -opinion-, if something make-up alters the way you look, it stills means you're pouring money into it. It's okay once a year for a con, and if the school budget can afford it for the actors/actresses.

Makeup thread is for makeup discussion plz

As in if you're going to be all anti-makeup then please go somewhere else >:

makeup ain't all eyeliner and mascara. there's also foundation and concealer, which at times can look like you're not wearing makeup at all but can even out skin tone and cover up undereye circles ectectect
i agree.
this is a before and after thread not a discussion thread. take it to the make up thread if you want to say your opinion

Kagome - I wear makeup even if it's a weekend and I'm not leaving the house. o.e
Like, foundation and all that jazz~
And makeup isn't very expensive... o n o

Meep/Dana - If it's just a before and after thread, won't it die out quickly?
Hurdur, like, if it's just a picture thread, we have one of those...right?

Make-up can be spendy for some peoples budgets (Especially if you want the amazing good shiz . And some people just don't find it important or a necessity .) and is mostly recommended if you have something about your face that you want to hide or don't approve of . But the use of make-up can make your cosplay that much cooler if used in a proper way . but it isn't always needed . I find it useful because it gives you that flawless look that most all characters have , but if that comes to you normally , then go with your bad self and don't use make-up .
Let's just not get snippy at each other for personal preferences . Everyone is different .

I'll post some bf/af when I do some cosplay make up tests . (:

Did a make-up test for my Rikku cosplay after I got home from work tonight. My mom is darker than I am so I borrowed some powder real quick for this photo, but planning on getting some foundation or bronzer to give me the sun-kissed look Rikku has opposed to my pasty pale. Ignore the wig too sice I haven't re-styled it. XD

Top is no make-up at all, and bottom is after.

You can't tell much make-up wise because of my webcams crappy lighting, but in person the eye make-up stands out more.
