Spray-in Liquid Colored Contacts
« on: August 31, 2010, 05:59:40 am »
http://www.refinery29.com/a-liquid-colored-contact-that-you-spray-into-your-eye.php

How someone could resist the shock of something suddenly getting sprayed into the eye, I'm not sure.

Sounds pretty amazing, but it seems even more dangerous than actual contacts :/

And yes, those pictures are official.

If the FDA approves it I don't see anything wrong with it :D I would use it.

I would imagine that your tears wash them away after a while.

Depending on the price of the spray and how well the color showed up, I would totally use these.

That's what I figured. My medium brown eyes and I will just have to wait on the next innovation.

You do realize to do this you probably have to place something over your eye, probably directly touching your eye and spray on the coloring?
This is the only way to keep the white of your eyes white.
The spray probably comes in a can with a nozzle that is placed on your eye and then you just spray. At least, that is the only way I can see this working...

I can do that just fine. I imagine almost everyone who wears contacts is fine with touching their eyes.

Yes, but what about the people who don't?
I think this will appeal more to people who don't wear contacts on a normal basis because of pricing and infection all that fun stuff.
Of course those of us who do will be excited about it as well but it's not like we don't have a fall back if push comes to shove and all things fail.
But people who don't wear contacts for whatever reason, this might be a huge break for them but if they are scared of touching their eyes, then it's another slap in the face of remaining with their normal eye colors.

That sounds just as dangerous to me. :/
This appears to be a great idea but I wouldn't want to spray some chemicals in my eye or whatever it takes to change them. I'll just go out and buy contacts.
To me, this seems like it could really damage the eye and there might even be effects of blindness after extended use.

If this is FDA approved, I would only use it a few times and sparingly. Your eyes are very delicate and to spray something in them every day that chemically alters your eye color...that seems extremely dangerous.
A coating? Okay, that's not too bad. But to chemically alter it? Sounds iffy to me. :/

I've gotta agree with everything Gryffinclaw said. At least with contacts you can take them out, I don't want to spray something in my eye and not be certain how to get it out if something goes wrong.

I'm really weird about my eyes ,I don't know if I could deal with spraying it. But it sounds awesome. I wouldn't even go near it untill it's approved in America, or FDA.

But then again, I wear contacts every day, so I'm fine with putting in colored contacts (although this would be cool, because I don't have enough money for prescriptioned colored contacts, so we'll see. lol)

But yeah! It looks pretty cool if it really works. ^^ A great alternitive for cosplayers with issues involving contacts and such~

Um... WOW. That's amazing. I can deal with stuff in the eye. But yeah... only if there's no side effects. Hope its legit. I'd love to experiment with it. Doesn't sound as dumb as the 'eye jewelry' they are doing in the netherlands... & couldn't be nearly as drastic or deteriorating than that guy in Canada who's injecting tatoo ink directly into the whites of his eyes. I think we're all waiting to see what happens to that guy. lol. thanks for sharing! It is fun to know!
