Teddy.. I might need to make my sister go as Original Green this year, since I just cut my hair super short and donated it. I might be able to get extensions, but don't count on it. Just keepin' you aware!
No worries.

Ok so. Anyone want to make some extra money and live in the Portland area, hopefully closer to Beaverton/Hillsboro?

Because I really need someone to help me sew this thing up. I can provide fabric, sewing machine, thread, etc, but I lack the skill to do so. Also someone willing to teach while doing would be VERY much appreciated.

Can you post a picture please?  That would give me an idea of whats envolved.  Also what kinds of fabric do you have for it?

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ghetsis
You can see my dilemma here. Although it looks simpler than it initially seems, upon a closer look. Just a double cape over a...housedress or something, and a weird mantle.

As for the other person I was considering, his is a lot easier. I think.

Probably have to make that shirt of something pretty thin, though, since otherwise it's two coats.

Now I really can't wait to find a coat for Ice! Grr.. So what kinda material are you thinking for him? Or you could sew the two coats together.

I have no idea what to use for either of them. I got what looks like some nice dark blue fabric for Ghetsis's cape, but the yellow idk. And Murph's seems like it should be like pilled fleece or something and I don't know why.

So, does anyone want to get some money and help me out?

voltorb is pretty much the first one that popped into my head since it IS red and white <.< and you can make it a funny one, like you wear the red wig and make a ball shaped body costume. which is pretty easy to do, kinda like those m&m costumes XD that would be epic XDDD

Quick question~ Did 0peko on pixiv do this? I looked through their gallery and didn't find that art. Do you know who did make it? Thank you. =)

Hey guys. Okay I was randomly googling stuff and found a really odd, but really cool item:

As you can see, they are boots that look like paws and have claws to detail it!
So cool!

And with my cosplay being a mightyena gijinka and the feet being paw shapped, I thought that this might be a good possible alternative idea. What do you guys think??

That'd be pretty cool. Though you might want to make sure you'd be able to walk in them. You'd have to walk tip-toed all the time, since there are no heels.

And take me off the list for any pokemon this year. I just don't have the time to add another cosplay.

I'll probably still go to meetups and such, but there's no way I have room for another cosplay for Kumo~

@shadow: that is WAY awesome! and you would have to walk on your heel actually, it would feel a bit weird at first, but you would have to practice with them so you can get used to how to balance where you would step.

^Lol.

Yeah, I know what you mean though. Just like walking in high heels, it takes a little practice/getting used to. These would be even tougher I imagine as it has no heel.
BUT, they look pretty epic, so it would be worth it.
Plus, if you guys think it would go well with my mightyena gijinka cosplay, then Im all for it. Hopefully the site I found this on is somewhat reasonable with its prices.....

Yeah I thought about that too. I just dont really know the best way to do that. I mean, CAN you even attach fur or any material for that matter, to the outside of boots?

But yeah, the original plan will have furry slippers with claws for the feet, but this seemed like a much cooler idea.
And actually in this case, its a win win. When my feet get tired from these, I can switch to the more comfortable slippers.
Yay.
But first, I need to find out if these boots will be affordable. I get that feeling that they wont..... sigh.

Hot glue is your best friend for temp attaching. If it does work, I'd say try "fabric stitch" for a more permanent hold ^^

Well, I was right. The site for those boots is Uber expensive.
Those paw boots cost 1440 Euro.  :o

So thats a no go.

But that brings me to my next thought, do you guys think its possible to make my own similar version?

I'd imagine that I could fine similar normal boots. If I can find a durable and plyable material, I could make a cut out of a dogs paw pads and hot glue them to the bottom of the boots. Then just remove the heel part. Also if possible, I'd add claws to the front of the boots as well. In this case, I would make them a bit shorter for durability.

What do you guys think of that?

it could work :) and sucks it cost that much, i was thinking it was going to be waay out of your price range XD

you can get a pair of boots, OR you can make them out of fabric completely, and have the base be a pair of black slip on shoes, and cover the whole leg part in fabric, and attach the claw/paws to the front, and cover those with the same fabric. it shouldn't be TOO hard. you might want to paper mache the whole shoe, into w/e shape you want, color it black or w/e the color you want, then cover it with the fabric.

Yeah, usually these non main stream products are pretty pricey. Its actually outragous imo. I mean, sure those would take a little extra effort to make and a little more time, but that much? Really?  >:(

Anyways, for my original gijinka plans, I already have furry clawed slippers basically, planned for the feet. But those boots would have been an even more realistic and way cooler way to going about it.

Thats all.

Well, pretty much the company who made those boots, just took a pair of boots and took the whole sole and heel of them and just replaced it with the dog sole.

It'd be pretty easy to do. I'm actually planning on doing these myself for a different cosplay.
