I know exactly what you mean.. I'm kinda going through the same thing right now. Even listening to my regular music still seems weird at the moment.
The best cure for me has always just been time. You ease back into the daily motions eventually. I never try to force it. I just let it happen.

I have tons of parties to go to with my dumb friends and generally I just stay on these forums to chat and ease it up.

It's pretty easy if you have a lot of stuff to do~ :3

The after-con blues are always rough, even for those of us who spend 80% of it working. But find little ways to fill in the empty space, like the ones EveofAbyss mentioned, or sewing next year's costumes, or Googling interesting stuff you heard about at the convention, or going to staff meetings, or just plain staying busy.

That next-to-last one might actually be one of the best ways to combat the after-con blues. One of the biggest reasons we don't have more events throughout the year, and more programming at the big one? Not enough staff.

Some of us have the energy to work on more than one con, but it takes some of us all year just to recover and not burn out from overwork, and a lot of us burn out anyway and have to take years off before coming back. If we had more staff... it might not be as long until the next event in our area. Just sayin'.

Ah! I completely understand. I was so bummed Monday evening. I'm "bridging the gap" my getting together with my new friends I met at the con, and also, planning for upcoming conventions.

I just got back from the gym and I feel awesome.  I didn't realize how much I missed kicking my own butt. ^^  I mean, it had only been since Friday, but still.. XD  My workout just started "Phase II" or something so I get to do different exercises at a higher weight, so it's challenging in a new way.

I may try to attend some meetings this year if i can. I have to focus on school though but for now i need to get myself out of this craxy funk because its making me do stupid things and i can't even focus on anything. ><

For those of you that are feeling sad that the con is over, you can always head over to the plan your own adventure board and see if anyone's planning a meetup. Kumoricon does it's general meetings every month(ish) and that can be a great time/place to come see the people you missed from con, learn about volunteering, and to just see what's new in Kumoricon.

Personally I'd love to see a bunch of people coordinate going to a park or something in cosplay and getting together and doing something fun like capture the flag or something, but heh... that could just be me ^.^

It was sad to leave the con however while my friends and I were hanging out at the Ben and Jerry's next to Clackamas we ran into two cosplayers from the con. It was like Kumoricon giving us one last hug before we left. Then it was a long drive back home several miles from any cons of any type.

I agree with a lot of what people are saying about dealing with the Post Kumoricon Blues just try to stay busy. Also finding something to watch that you like which isn't anime related can help. On Tuesday I watched an episode of Madmen I had on my dvr god that's such a good show and it was a great episode too and that helped me feel a little like I was back to a normal routine at least for a little bit.

I've been watching lots of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and yesterday I watched a bunch of episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm with my friend.  He's new to the show so I let him borrow the first and second seasons.  HEEHEEHEE. XD

I just want to admit this, because the thread called to me. After Kumoricon this year, I cried. I mean I really cried. I was so sad that it was over for another year (gotta start next year's cosplay!!) and I'm really hoping to see the people I met again. I wonder if some of them are on here. Probably  . . . . 
Anyway, after crying and being so busy I couldn't cry, I find the injustice in the fact that the three best days of my life (so far, and it sounds cliche, but I do mean it) went by so quickly. I couldn't really grasp that they were there, and they were gone.

I get the same feeling after any fan convention I go to (furry, anime, or Science Fiction) I found the best way to beat back post convention blues is to have something to do between cons. I am involved with a local fury group which meets for lunch. Is there anime group avaible. One can start a viewing group or party or orgnize cosplay outings.

Nothing to be ashamed of with that. It is the highlight for most of our year's, and we all share a sense of depression at leaving what has become a haven for most of us. Luckily for us, the forums are always abuzz with activity and good con-friends. So, stick on the forums and keep an ear open for new gatherings and get-togethers. ^_^

Man.. I was really, really close to crying, actually.  It was weird.  When I got home and I brought everything in and I just this huge like .. emotional drain .. and I felt a little lonely and sad for a bit.  It was tough. ;-;

I wake up in the morning, and am like, "Aw, I don't get to go to the awesome con... but at least I got to stab a giant Snorlax in the eye."

Thanks man.  Trying to stay occupied and get back into my regular schedule has helped. ^^  Back to going to the gym every other day, playing basketball whenever I can.  Have a few shows lined up (Apocalyptica/Dir En Grey and Swallow the Sun/Orphaned Land/Katatonia).  School starts Sept 20th.

You're into metal, right?  (I seem to recall you doing vocals for a band.)  You making it out to either of those shows?

Same I am still feeling the aftermath of the con, i have been having weird dreams, and last night i had a scary zombie dream. I blame the con 100% for that, but i am hoping to snap out of it this weekend when i go and see Resident Evil IN 3D!i!i!i!i!i

That's awesome, yeah, I'm actually going to the Orphaned Land show also. I know they're not headlining, but they are the main draw for me. Can't wait for that show. Maybe I'll see you there! I would like to go to the Dir En Grey show, but I've got to pick and choose at this point, heh. Have a blast though!

I'm sad it's over, I've been just so excited for next year's convention, that this morning, I woke up to a dream of me meeting my friend at the hotel and realizing I forgot stuff, such as my cosplay at home. . . >.> Since I can't drive, apparently in my dream, there's a bus that goes from Vancouver to Salem. . . So, I took it, got my stuff, and when I got back to the hotel in my dream, realized I forgot my cosplay again. xD I gave up though, I'd missed all of Day 1 in my dream. T>T

But, other than that dream, I've been okay with readjusting, just been watching some anime, my friend finished Durarara!! just before the convention, that I decided to sit from the time I got home at midnight Wednesday morning(yeah. . . >.>) just to start and finish watching it. xD

I almost cried i was torn though because i was sick i wanted to go home but once i was there i got really depressed and i laid in bed for quite a while until my boyfriend finally got me going and we enjoyed a evening of cooking brownies, reading manga and playing halo ^^ it was fun and then cuddling with my friend's big bear dog XD

This is one of the reason we try and rotate where the meetings are held.  Last year, we had at least two meetings in Salem.  Just keep an eye out for the announcements on where/when they are

Yesterday: Attended Anime Friday, in cosplay/Loli. Watched the AMV Contest!
Today: Attended the brunch potluck picnic in the park of the Eugene Cosplay Crew or whatever our acronym was, in cosplay/Loli. Learned how to play Apples to Apples.

Totally relaxing events, with likeminded folks, =, antidote.

All week/weekend: Finalizing Creation Station's schedule for our room at Orycon.

I like to surround myself with a few friends, maybe do some baking, and start sorting out all of the pictures I took at photoshoots and get them online for all the people I took them of. I just try not to be isolated for the next few days.

I've been watching quite a bit of anime, and I just can't stop thinking of next year's cosplay (though I don't feel like I can start work on them yet).

A couple days ago I started watching UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie, pretty fun, very cutesy. Just being excited thinking of next year and conversing on the forums.
