You could also argue that Richard Nixon got elected 'cause of a whole convergence of badness for the Dems. First Humphrey and Kennedy split the youth activists, then Kennedy dies, MLK dies and a lot of people that might've turned out to vote for Anyone Other Than Nixon were busy being brutally disenfranchised.
Also, hippies suck at voting. Stunningly bad at it. Something about not participating in a rigged/meaningless/corrupt/whathaveyou system. They'd rather be sitting around the hookah.
But! Hippies and the anti-war movement still made a huge impression on American society, and a lot of the values and ideas that came to the forefront then are still floating around, or were the basis for further countercultural/social justice action.
So all of that, and then throw in the fact that the fan interpretations of nation-tans don't always represent majorities. Lots of American Civil War fic includes Confederate America, which wasn't a population majority.

What I mean to say is HIPPIES ARE VALID COSPLAY IT.

Hippy!America would be inaccurate. Remember, in 1968, the 'silent majority' elected Richard Nixon. Who hated hippies.

Also, you should totally sailor!Norway, sandra!

Also, I need to check this thread more. >.>

It is inaccurate. But then again, there are a few popular adaptions I have seen that are. I am aware of this and so is my friend. We just think it would be an interesting take on America.

As long as you don't think everyone in the '60s was a hippie, then I don't care. xD

Although in the '70s, they did like to repeat a few kitschy things from the '60s. . SO IT MAKES SENSE.

Hippy!America would be so cool! XD <3
One thing i love about Hetalia is there are sooooo many versions of same nations. Like in the halloween store, i was like, Oooooo this could be wwII uniform!America, not wait! Mafia!Romano nonono wait, viking norway, NONONO SALIOR NORWAY, Cop!ANYONE, indianajones!America, harrypotter!england, flamingodance!romano, 3mustketeer!badfriendstrio (BUT THERE WAS ONLY ONE COSTUME, IRONY.) uhhhhhhhhhh i could go on if i rememberd any more, haha.

And then.. there's Korea. ;A;
I wish Korea had more versions to cosplay. I'm going to try to make a more historically accurate version of him as a twist, but honestly-- the original costume is getting a bit worn out.

Make up more versions! Look into his history and see if there isn't something else you could do, or a more elaborate traditional outfit. Try being Korea in modern street fashion.

Hm, you're right-- street fashion doesn't sound like a bad idea. It might be a little tough though, since I'm.. well, female. :\ I hope he'll be properly recognizable. His ahoge by itself might not be enough. Honestly, I'm actually most conflicted about his hair. I'd planned to grow mine out for once, but it looks like I might have to cut it short again (it's black naturally).
Maybe I should just braid it or something...

Re being a female human: binding. You can make it work for you.
Wig. Wigwigwigwigwig. Get one. If you do, you can go full antigravity curl. His hair is anime-type fluffy anyway.

Clothes-wise, you can include the Korean flag somewhere on your clothes/bag/accessories.

Flags. Why didn't I think of that? -facepalm- Thanks for the advice!
The binding.. I'll definitely do that. But first, It's weight loss time.

Do you have any good suggestions for a Korea wig? The main issue, of course, would be his forehead hairline.

No problem~.

I'm not the one in my group that does wig styling, so I can't give you specifics. However, his hairline is really not that difficult. It should be easier to wear than my Austria wig, since he has bangs covering most of your hairline. The big thing is pinning that wig down really well and then spirit gumming the center front so it covers your hairline and doesn't move.
If you find yourself totally at a loss, commission Hashi.

Thank you, Miria~. I decided to respond to the increased wave of trolling and general dickery by doing something as sincere as possible out of spite.

Yagi and I have agreed that we're doing the PJ Party again this year, and we'll have Jaqua sub in as third official panelist. This is going to be the BEST PJ PARTY EVER, guys. It has to be. Largely because we're tired of having to panickily replan at the last minute.

Which, after the meeting, I got the request to get my computer. DX
I have no clue why at all they would want to see pictures on my computer. -whistles innocently-
But yeah, it was totally worth it.

Also, I was looking for some nice outfits for a Renaissance festival and came across a really nice English doublet and pants to go with it. So if I end up saving up enough for it and buy the outfit, what are your guys' thoughts of a Renaissance/Tudor!England? I know it's not canon, but I like the idea behind it :x

I just don't know if I want to buy the whole thing if it seems like it would be too obscure, y'know?

Oh I'm glad there are going to be two! I was debating, if there was only one, whether I would/should wear my Viking!Norway or Tudor!England. But now I can do both! :D As long as I know which day and times (which I'm sure we'll find out later down the road~)

I'd also like to say that if anyone needs help setting up or even just needing an extra hand with one of the panels, events, et cetera at K-con, as long as it doesn't conflict with the Skit Cosplay Contest I'll be more than willing to help~.
