8D I just got my new contacts for Prussia! They look kinda purple on my eyes, but they have enough red. He was reddish-purple eyes anyway, that's my excuse. .

I actually think i'll just stick with Russia again this year. He's still my favorite character and i had a blast cosplaying as him, though i'm planning on fixing up the costume a bit. The wig a wore is getting old and weird looking and it stinks of hair...It's also my America/Tamaki wig so it was never the right color anyway, so i'm planning on getting a wig that actually matches Russia's hair. I also plan on fixing up the coat (more so on the little star badge thing because it was poorly made), as well as the scarf too because fleece wasn't the best thing to wear around at a con...I'll probably just use cotton or flannel.

After finishing all the Turkish homework I've been putting off, I was able to cut and style my Scotland wig. When I got the wig it was a bright orange, which I didn't think suited the character. I really wanted it to be a brown with possibly a reddish tint to it. I was able to get it a lot darker. I think it's doable, I tried a small section of dye to make it even darker and it almost turned out purple, so I don't want to mess with that anymore. I still think I want to do a little bit more styling, but overall I'm pretty content with it.

So here's a shot with my Prince Charlie coat and vest on with the wig. Then I did another angle without the coat. My glengarry fit fine with the wig, which is good to know, because it was a little tight just with my normal hair. Bagpiper glengarries are usually pretty plain, but I might add a clan badge to it and maybe some kind of feather. Then just for fun and for the lawlz I got a shot with my Scottish Deerhound puppy, this last photo is really silly, I would've deleted it if it wasn't for the fact that it has a great shot of my Scotch Whiskey mirror, a bodhran (scottish drum mounted on the wall), the ram staff that has the signatures of our clan members back to as early as 1609 and a picture on the wall of the Scottish castle, Eilean Donan.

Sidenote: This isn't supposed to be the popular OC of Scotland that's been floating around, you know, the pixiv one. Crisco, Cisco, or whatever his name is. I was also wondering if I should add stubble for more manliness...?

Scotland is now officially done! <3. Got my whole formal attire together for him~

Finished mending some of my Russia cosplay as well, now I'm just waiting for my other contact to arrive (since I foolishly only ordered one OTL.)

Also, a Scottish accent is the hardest thing for me to do, seriously. It's very frustrating and ironic.

Oh god, my Russian accent is terrible. One of my friend's boyfriend put up a higher quality full live performance of our skit a few days ago and I was listening to it and cringed the whole time. I also can't believe I said Gorbachev's name wrong, seriously? I just didn't have time to re-record it (that's what we get for doing it last minute! Ha.)

Make sure to set it to HD. The lighting is kind of bad, but it's waaay better than the other versions on YouTube. I didn't much care for the intensity of the whole communist thing, and the becoming one with Russia was a bit cliche, but overall I think we did alright : )

We actually got some of these ideas from a girl who did Hetalia Peter Pan on dA. Mostly for France mermaid, crocodile Belarus, America Peter Pan, and the pipe instead of a hook for Russia Captain Hook.

Hetalia ruins so many things for me :'D. Sometimes I can't help but think of it in certain situations that it really, really shouldn't be in. Ha.

The dude I sit next to in economics can do a great Russian accent. He's in my German class, too, and for some reason he speaks German with a Russian accent.

I can't do an Irish accent or a Polish accent. All I know about Polish accents is that you don't say articles, you do weird tongue trills, and you say "darlink" a lot. >.>

Pff- I'm actually hoping to find everything i need for it at Goodwill. If i can't find anything there, i'll probably end up having to buy an actual cosplay costume off of Ebay...Which will kind of suck considering how much they are. I'm still going to try my hardest to find everything cheap though.
I'm also planning on selling my entire Death note collection on craigslist so that would cover my entire cosplay if i end up needing to buy it online.
