Finished sewing my dress for Bianca Solderini

The wig was just sort of thrown on and not combed. I'll probably mess around with the jewelry a bit still.

All I need now is some make up to lighten my eyebrows/make them the right color and make up to make me look dead along with some vampire fangs.

I hope you do bring it back for a few cons because in a year or two i am getting Louie done :3

Jacob: It's so hard for me to find others who know/have read the Vampire Chronicles and even fewer who know who Bianca is, so this makes me happy. Yes, I'm wearing it to Sakuracon and probably to Kumoricon next year. Possibly for some photoshoots as well. I have a Marius and Armand that I'm doing a photoshoot with in September, actually. I'm excite.

OH MAN MY POOR ACHIN' FEET.

This picture looks pretty terrible to how it looks in real life. I need to get some thicker hair bands to tie onto the pigtails to make them stick out more, sew the stars on, my friend is going to hack the thing up (I need a good 4 inches or so off the pigtails and the bangs cut), and then I need to curl the bottoms of the hair a little bit BUT THE HARDEST PART IS DONE. I also don't really like the size of my clips. I made them myself and that's about as small as I can get them. Does any one know where to buy just plastic clips like that that are about half the size? I've checked Albertsons, Rite Aid, and Fred Myers so far. (Or if you have some you don't need, I will pay you for them :D~)

Started painting my cross punisher last night...Im not happy seeing all the brush strokes.  Put on a few coats and see what happens.  Any advise from the peanut gallery?

My great aunt is the greatest seamstress.  She made the alterations to my vash jacket for me and my little sis will be bringing it on the 1st when her and her friends come down for the con.   ;D

I'd suggest spray painting your cross instead. I know that has always been my method of painting, and it obviously eliminates the brush stroke problem. Not sure what the potential downsides are to spray painting, but I'm sure there is some reason it isn't always the best solution.

Some spray paints can eat through some insulation foams. It always pays to coat insulation foam in something else before spraypainting it, if you spraypaint it at all.

Thanks for the info...will use spraypaint next time.  After putting on the mod podge on the foam, spraypaint should be ok.  However, I don't have a place to spray paint at the moment and I already put on the first coat using a brush....O well I guess I will have to live with it.  Perhaps when I spray on the sealer (which I have to do in the middle of the night out on the street  ;D) it will help cover the brush strokes.

Have you tried Foam Brushes? They don't leave brush strokes cause there are no bristles.

One piece of advise for spray painting foam, make sure it's COMPLETELY sealed. When I made my cross punisher I used a few coats of latex paint first and there were a few spots where I didn't notice little holes from very small bubbles or something and I wound up with a solid layer of paint that had the foam corroded away behind it. was not pleased.

As for brush strokes you can try painting different directions. so paint a second coat perpendicular to your first coat. This can help keep the brush strokes from showing too much.

I want to take pictures of your group oh my god.

Also I just routed the circular details on my keyblade handle with my dremel so now I just have to finish the shaft and handle before I can paint. Not much left to do on the keyblade. My secret cosplay on the other hand...

Got my raichu dress from my friend today. I've started making the stripes to go on the back. I need to make a slip to go under it because its kinda see-through. I'm just debating about making a half apron to go with it. I still haven't found shoes for raichu and i need to get yellow felt for the lightning bolt on the tail. oh, and i found a watch for Heather.

Value Village has  been pretty good for me when it comes to finding shoes. They had a really cute pair of bright yellow jelly flats last Tuesday. I wonder if that would help?

Got back on the wagon with cosplay. I dismantled my Hufflepuff robe to turn it into a robe for the HOly Roman Empire. Since it once had sleeves, it's narrow at the shoulder so I'm going to make a fancy button and chain clasp to go under my cravat. I hope it looks nice.

I got the swirls done for the wig of Nameless Zombie from Hanna is not a Boy's name, too! They turned out better than I would have hoped!

I've had really good luck with flats there. I think you should be able to find something. If not, Goodwill's only a bit further down 99-W, and it had a really nice selection of shoes last Tuesday, too.

ANARU PRETTY MUCH DONE. Need to iron everything and I might dink around with the wig a little bit. I want the pigtails to stick out more but they are drooping under their own weight. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears. All I am going to do at the moment is tie some clear elastic to where the star ends.

@Richie- DO IT MANG, I'm so happy other people are into this series ahhhh~

Miku: Cut out the pieces for the train of the skirt (main part+lining). Need to get some more lining fabric tomorrow and cut out the rest of the pieces (front and back of over skirt, fabric+lining). I also might need to get more netting for the built in petticoat. Hopefully I will have all of the pieces of the skirt cut out tomorrow and preliminary pinning done and ready to be sewn together Tuesday. I'll probably do the cage skirt Wednesday and I'm hoping to have the skirt done by Thursday or Friday at the latest.

Paprika: Still need basically everything. XP

well I was having some trouble with some small areas on my blade keeping it from being completely smooth. I think the wood filler wasn't working because it has too large of particles in it so I mixed up a filler of joint compound and white glue with a bit of water and white paint. It's just about dry so in a few min I'm gonna go sand that down and see how it looks.

The plan for today:
- Weather the wrist-cuff
- Seal it
- Add Velcro to the waist-guard
- Find pants for Barret
- Paint Ox King's horns
- Start work on his hat

We'll see how much of this I actually get done. Maybe even more than this!

ok I found it too hot this weekend to work very diligently on my cross punisher.  But I did manage to get some more paint on it and spray brown fabric paint on my white cloves for Vash.  But tonight should be cool enough to get me moving again.   :D

However, just got invited to happy hour....ok I guess I will just have to stay up longer.  LOL

SO MUCH COSPLAY STUFF BOUGHT TODAY I DONT EVEN. I'm going to be dropping Gaz on day 0 [saving her for next year] and I'm bringing Heather Mason instead!

So here's the run down. I found brown heels for raichu. I found a perfect sweater thing for heather and a skirt that needs to be shortened and hemmed. All i need is the boots. and maybe a haircut. Pics when i get home and finish that. [i also found a really cool pair of boots that aren't really for cosplay ^^; but they're so cool]

Also, I figured out the pants situation. Turns out, the pants I got for Ox King will work perfectly for Barret too. So...yatta to that!

I actually just got some black and brown paint, mixed them and dabbed it on a little at a time with one brush, and spread it around with a dry one, while occasionally getting the cuff wet and dabbing it with a paper towel (which started off as an accident but ended up to my liking, so I kept doing it, lol). Glad you think it looks good! ^_^

I work in an hour so I can't do anything else today but I did finally start work on Sailor V! XP
It's inside out in this picture because I was going to start pinning to take it in a bit until I realized the time. DX
But tomorrow I'm going to finish hemming and taking it in a bit around my waist (cause it's really baggy) then I'll start on the chest armor (which is already cut out) and shoulder guards. You can see my wig in the background on my mom's chair, too.

But, sorry for the messy hair and blarghkhfsdfdhfa face.

Well I've started adding some silver to the sword. Of course being reflective this makes certain problems that I couldn't see before stand out like a sore thumb which means more sanding :( on the plus side it is looking pretty awesome. now I'm getting to the point where I really need to figure out what I'm going to make the Garden logo from.

I really should be heading back out to the garage to put a coat on the other side but I don't want to get off the couch right now.

After a few more coats of fiberglass and a good amount of sanding and some more dremel work the handle of my keyblade will be done. The key portion still needs a little bit of work. I still need to assemble my keychain and paint it. After a little more sanding.

So much sanding.

My secret cosplay is coming along splendidly though. The coat is almost done, the hat is finished, the gloves are cut out and I'm going to assemble them after Law & Order is over. Then all I have to do is the dress.

So I decided even though it's a rave on day 2 and not a ball to go ahead and continue making my ballgown and just wear it for fun at the convention.
