I have already started working on Taokaka. The jacket is almost done. I just have to shorten the sleeves a little, attach the paw part and the rest of my craft foam pieces and the jacket will be done. I also found a great wig. It is a Halloween wig but since it is braided the quality doesn't matter as much.

Anyone else have progress yet?

Yesterday I went reference picture hunting and started sketching on Mimiru. Once I get money I'll order Maddy's Sora wig, and my Mimiru wig. I'm going to work on learning how to sew today and hopefully I can make our Tiz and Third headbands for our Jyu-Oh-Sei cosplay.

Also writing a resume right now which is pretty important in that with a job I'll have a bit of steady money for cosplayin'!

I mostly just have a bunch of miscellaneous things for Tao, Not enough to take a picture or anything. But Eventually yes.

And Really For Luka, I just have wig and some possible pants and shoes, since it's a pretty easy cosplay. >=3

Well I realized last year that if i'm going to make a cosplay, get it done on time.. Which I did not and everything became total mess T^T
So this year I will buy my cosplays!! But, I'll make any accessories that may go with the outfit instead of buying them.

But since I don't need to buy my cosplays yet, I.. I really don't have any thing to do at the moment.

I am working on the ends of the wig now. For being a cheap Halloween wig the braids look great. I am getting then ends a little smoother so they aren't as ratty looking. Also I will be wearing a mask so the top of the wig wont be seen.

Thank you :3 It really means a lot. Its probably one of the few things I have ever really made from scratch. I am going to fix up the paws a little, probably add black lining to the hood, or lining in general and finish up the edges at the bottom just a little more.

True. Though there may be points where I will want the mask off, so I can talk and what not so I wouldn't mind the top of the wig. Though it might not be a bad idea to just cut it all off. It would make getting the jacket on easier.

Ha ha, yeah, I can understand keeping the top on for that, I didn't think about it. I just thought I would suggest~ I remember I was considering doing Tao awhile ago and was going to just braid extensions and attach them so I wouldn't have to deal with a wig.

Also one thing that is just irking me to all hell, did you do a zigzag stich over the details on your paws? The black is the only thing that looks really off, it looks kinda like it's fraying a bit. If you have the extra time you should just do a small zig zag over the edges so it prevents it from coming up at all and fraying. I know Meg did it on her Snorlax cosplay, you should talk with her about it. Looks pretty good besides that though.

The black on the paws is a type of fur like material. I will consider doing that but I would have to have some serious help because I think I would make it look more like crap then good. I will see what I can do ^_^

I just pinned them to the pants I have on right now cause I don't have her jean shorts yet. Hopefully this weekend I'll stop by Ranch & Home and dig through their sale on shorts.
I plan to sew the suspenders onto the shorts but if that fails I'll either make new ones that button on or just use real ones. My step-dad has some red ones from when he was in the Military (don't ask, I don't even know) that he said I could use if mine don't work.

I'm wearing a sports bra in the picture to try and decrease the appearance of my chest size since Misty isn't that big. It's kinda restricting on breathing but meh. Should I try for smaller or just stick with my normal chest size? (To breath or not to breath...that is the question...)

Depends on what your normal breast size is. But other than that, it's looking really good. I mean, I really like the handmade suspenders.

I'm a 34D-DD (Depends on Mother Nature and her visits) normally. :/
I made the shirt so it falls at the right place for my chest size and the suspenders so they don't squish me with my normal chest but it can easily be altered if I go for something smaller.
What I'm thinking is maybe at Akicon I'll do my normal chest and show some pictures to you guys and see what you think. I like to be as realistic as I can be with characters but sometimes it's not very easy for me if I want to breath.
Or when I get it fully complete take some normal photos and some with my B sports bra and see what works best.
I would prefer normal but if it looks too...hentaiish, then I'll go for the sports bra.

Well if the shirt is loose enough than it might also hide your chest size a bit and than you wear a normal bra for more comfort. I'd also suggest instead of wearing a B cup sports bra, go for a size bigger. So than your not completely constricting yourself but your still getting that desired look that your going for.

Went wig and pattern searching...also found a totally wicked tutorial for making weapons and props out of cardboard and hot glue! Considering I work with a lot of both at my job, I think I can handle it! I've got most of my reference pictures, and designs and alterations figured out, and I'm pretty sure I know what trinkets and props I need to keep a look out for over the next year! I'm also going to start on a few things for my 2012 cosplays...if only because some of the props and costume pieces for them are going to take a long long time, and I don't wanna run out of time!

I'm excited to get started! As soon as I have the money to do so.......T__T

I know, and its a bit daunting considering the props I'm planning, but normally if I just put my mind to something craft related it turns out pretty well! Plus I have lots of time till con so if I get started soon, I shouldn't have any problems.

Okay so I finished as much on Akaito as I could because I'm missing some pieces and the rest I need a model for.

So I decided to work on Tao. As I was sewing the middle pieces together for the Jacket I put it on for a second to see how it was turning out. Turns out I made the back a bit too short. I seem to forget that my butt is McLarge when I'm making costumes for myself. I've already done enough work on it that I don't want to start over but I'm not sure what else I could do to fix it.

Maybe instead of hemming it I could just attach another piece of the same material but sort of like a trim? >A<;; I'm lost.
