MY TOUKO WIG CAME! I woke up to my roomie chucking it at me. Haha, what an amazing way to wake up.

I immediately put it on and it looks really cute on me! I'm very happy, and that it was only 20 bucks makes me even happier~ <3

On ebay. It was a listing that no one was bidding on, so I was able to get it for the minimum price, and then the shipping was free. And it is a very nice wig. :]

Ugh - I need fabric to attempt to sew Hei's jacket. But the nearest fabric shop is 30 minutes away. And I cannot sew. I would commision someone, but I don't want to pay $50 for a jacket I could sew for like, $15.

Started my cosplay progress by dying wigs. I decided to start with my Ramona wig because my bucket was already blue.

I was able to mix the perfect shade with the colors I had which was really awesome, but I'm not to pleased with the wig I used it on. I used it on a Lucielle wig and I have to say I'm really disappointed in these because (at least the one I worked with) is probably one of the worst wigs I've ever worked with.

The wig was a mix of two different colored fibers, one blue, one a light green. The blue took all of the dye while the green didn't take a lot leaving me with a streaky colored wig. The wigs are also on the thin side and has a lot of crimped hair near the base of the wefts. More then it should. This a straight wig and really has no reason for that. It would be fine worn straight but I'm not sure if I want to use it for the costume anymore because of that.

LUCKILY I ordered another wig that will probably be easier to dye and the such. Bad news is I really have no need for half of the wigs I ordered from that shop now, as I don't want to damage them attempting to dye or style them. So I will be selling off a bunch of wigs for cheap soon :\ I just hope this wig looks nice when it's dry or I can salvage it after soaking it in alcohol.

In other news, I will probably spend the rest of my night dying a wig for commission and my own wig for Kumatora.

Yeah, though now that it's dried the blue green wig looks freaking cool. It just won't work out for what I used it for. Maybe I can get my money back for it because of the sweet dye job.

And I'm just giving up on cosplay tonight. Tried to dye my friends Natsu wig and grabbed some Fire Red ink instead of magenta so the thing has some really bright spots when it's suppose to be dull. guhhhh.

I'm gonna go with magical Chinese wig on this one, Boogie. Those are some weird pictures you've got going there. Whole wig is strange, now that I think about it. I swear that picture I took is the same color as the wig on my monitor, but maybe my eyes are just going crazy or something.

I've actually made some progress the past couple days which is nice..... got a ghetto beginner sewing machine on sale, so once I figure out how to work it I can do the detailing on Lady Gideon... Also found a skirt for super cheap at Goodwill that can be altered to work for the costume also. Last night I managed to straighten my Jacqueline wig a good deal, and got the base of the skirt finished (just need to get the faux fur fabric to cover it.)

Might be making another Goodwill/JoAnn's run today, so I'll possibly be able to get more done tomorrow. =]

That's why I always order my wigs waaay ahead of time, and then procrastinate on costumes.

So! I finally have a few updates to maaaake~

Bought the blue wig for Richea. It's supposed to be 59" long, so as long as I am tall xD Woot!
Also bought the jacket for Simon and the costume for Emil... And still looking into Soul's jacket... Gotta buy his and Simon's pants today.
I also bought 2 wigs for Yuna, for X-2 and X versions..

I also cleaned off my back-up costumes and brought them to the dorm with me for Sakuracon. I might drag another one just in case....
And I got my spare long blond wig in the mail today~

Did I mention earlier I got Simon's wig in the mail? Well I did!

And it's awsome and dark blue and has black in it. I'm thinking it was intended originally for Ciel, since there's a rainbow of color involving that kid's hair practically oO;

Did so much yesterday, but everything got screwed up so not a lot got done!

- Decided not to use Ramona's wig and I'm trying to sell it now.
- Dyed wig for Natsu (Commission) The color looks pretty nice, the customer wants it a little darker so I'm going to dunk it in a brown and purple dye bath and call it good.

- Dyed my Kumatora wig and it came out Burgandy D: I am going to have to sell it, I already bought a replacement and it should be here well before con.

-Tried to dye a friends sweater but it's Rayon and Polyester so I was scared to dye it. iPoly only comes in dark blue and I was trying to get it an ice blue. It is super streaky and my friend is going to be upset when she finds out, but there's nothing much I can do. I gave her a warning it might not work and she said she didn't need a back up.
- Cut and dyed my fabric for Kumatora and it came out fine.
- Found my Ramona goggles!

Today will hopefully be....
- Tint and style Natsu's wig (PICK UP TOMORROW AHHH)
- Style Dusters wig
- Go get my LL tattoos printed
- Get my boyfriends Recruit wig cut and then style it
- Continue remaking my Nino Jacket

Also if any of the people I know who never check facebook are reading, we are doing a cosplay workshop at my house. Yesterday was awesome! If you wanna come today, tomorrow or the next, lemme know~

Dying poly is a headache... Last time I dyed a poly fabric I had to bring the dye mix to a boil on the stove and then dunk the already warm soaked fabric into it.

...I'd seriously rather just color the entire thing with sharpies instead of trying to boil it.

Well I was using a mesh poly, from a Yuna songstress costume. Probably why the RIT dye didn't want to take to it at first until I boiled it... But I think the hottest water from your tap might work

But I haven't worked with special poly dye before.. Mostly just RIT. (Dylon dye doesn't like "satin" poly fabrics btw >>) A dark green turned the white satin a blue teal shade..

The UO bookstore sells a dye called i-Dye that is specifically for polyester fibers that I'm thinking about using for some of the lace I'm dying. Has anyone tried it before? Since we're on the topic. lol.

On another note, I got one of the appliques that I ordered from cheeptrims in the mail today (they'd sent me the wrong one).

yay! Also got a crap ton of coupons for Joanns in the mail today that I'm going to use on brass snaps and the equipment I need for for them. Also going to get more boning I think for the cage skirt and some black fabric for Miku's arm sleeve thing.

That's great to hear. I'll probably use that for my poly lace and then RIT for my rayon lace (since rayon is technically a natural fiber). Woo for adventures in dying! I wonder how well poly fabric dyes work on wigs...?

I gave in and started doing wig surgery on my Keiji wig. I am so glad I never did a wig for my Lucrecia cosplay waaaaaaaaaay back when I did it, because this ponytail is toying with my mind. Still not too sure how I'm gonna get it on there, but I'll no doubt figure something out before the end of the day. It looks good though!
