I'm currently working with eBay to get my Lina cosplay refunded.  I'm tired of this BS.  Lina is probably going to get scrapped this year (again...).

Update: WHY IS EBAY SO DUMB!?!

So, I've taken the costume to eBay, and I'm thinking I should get my money back by the end of next week.  What's weird is that I've received an e-mail from the Hong Kong-based company that made the costume 6 minutes before eBay sent me one regarding my refund.  Apparently, they took my notice that I wanted a refund as incentive to make me a new costume and mail it out to me.  So, it sounds as if though I might be getting my refund AND a new Lina costume.  This both excites me and makes me feel like crap, too.

Well, I'll try not to.  I see the entire thing being at fault of eBay and the seller, (more for the seller), so any loss should really be on them.

Back from SakuraCon~ And I have a bit of good and bad news >>

Bad: Emil is the wrong color, doesn't really fit right... Though, it does get the message across. I guess? :/

Good: I got the Soul jacket from Nyahaha at con~ :D And when I got back, Simon was waiting for me! So I threw it on quickly. *lazy me took pic with AUTO and tiny quality...*

Gotta, gotta, gotta get ready for Wonder Northwest now.

I'm rewearing costumes but I'm going to have to fix crap on all the stuff I'm wearing. Ramona I need to restyle the back of the wig, fill up all the corners I dinged on my hammer, sand them down and paint them, attach a new bell, figure out a better way to make the handle screw in, and possibly make a new purse. I'm going to start it at least, may not get it done but I'll have my old one as back up.

Kumatora I need to restyle the bangs and the sides of the wig in front of my ears so I don't look like a derpy baby, fix the hem on the bottom of my dress, possibly rip out the stripes on the sleeves and line them up better, and possibly add new cuffs to the top of my boots. And if I'm really feeling productive I might make my boyfriend a rope snake.

And he just has to fix his Sword of Love up, joy of joys.
WHY DO THE FORUMS SUCK SO BAD?

Con hype is so contagious... here I was all bound and determined to set cosplay aside for a while and then BAM all my friends went to Sakuracon and came back with amazing stories and photos and I'm dragged back in. Haha!

Chris from KoF cosplay for Kumoricon 2011. I swear this kid is a combination of several bad fashions of the 70s and 80s - white, high waist pants and crop tops. In the words of a family member: "You look like you belong in a cheesy workout video." It's hilariously sad and true. ha.

The belt and wig are substitutes for now. So I need to...
~Buy wig (taobao summer group order???)
~Buy contacts (pinkyparadise summer group order???)
~Make necklace
~Remake wristbands
~Buy belt
~Make boots
~Raise hem of top
~Lose the spare tire

Meanwhile, for WNW '11 I'm bringing Neil from Scott Pilgrim the Video Game aaaand... I want to make something else but I don't have much time to decide on what. D=

A group of friends are doing genderbend evil exes from Scotty P. however the only male candidate is Roxie and I don't fit a hot, blonde half-ninja.

18 days to figure it out!

I am not too sure how I want to do the armor for Azula. Here is a reference picture.

So I am just looking at the shoulder, back and breast plate. I have a bunch of plastic that I am going to use in some part of it. I am wondering if I should cover the plastic with fabric or if I should just leave it plastic and paint the design on it. The plastic is smooth so I wont have to worry about a pattern on it like wonder flex has

I have plastic that would form just as well and it would be much more sturdy than craft foam. I have used both as armor and if I am able to the plastic would work much better. Though I want to learn some Kung Fu and be able to do it in the costume so I may have to do fabric with interfacing. I am thinking about doing some plastic armor for photo shoots and the fabric with interfacing for con.

Caitlin suggested Sculpy Ultra Light clay for my crown, and she said people use it for armor, which makes perfect sense to me after using it.

It's super light, yet hard, and doesn't crack.

I used it for small pieces though. It would be expensive as hell to make an entire suit of armor out of ultralight sculpey (not to mention how the hell would you bake it?)

Well I think I am going to try it out of plastic and see how it looks since it wont cost me anything. I may end up making one set out of fabric and interfacing so I can move easily and wear it to cons and what not and have the plastic hard one for photo shoots.

I will however make a few things out of plastic. I have the tiara cut out and shaped. I am going to color it later tomorrow. I also have all but one of the patterns made. I still need to make the pattern for the large part that goes over the shoulders.

:'( I'm still waiting for my refund.  I'm thinking about calling them, or maybe eBay instead...

Update: Success!  The package should arrive by the end of the day tomorrow, and I should be getting my money back by then!  Apparently, the reason for the delay is weather-related; I find that to be an acceptable reason for the delay.

Update: They have my package, and I should be getting my refund by this time tomorrow, according to eBay.

Who got a new wig today? This guy did!

I'm sooo excited about this wig. It needs cutting 'cause it's SO DARN THICK  - but that's a good thing; better than too thin. And it's the first step on my way to m'dream cosplay (which is my user icon). =]

thick wigs are A GOOD THING! LOL try to style with a thin wig, and if you cut it too much, too bad so sad, there goes any luck trying to cover those spaces.

Hi. Heh, well I'm new here and this will be my very first con. ;D
Anyway, I'm going to be crossplaying as Roy Mustang and the second Greed(Greedling) from Fullmetal Alchemist.
My progress on them so far:
For Roy I have:
○ the Military suit,
○ short black wig,
○ gloves,
○ boots
○ eyepatch material (I'm doing eyepatch Roy second day, normal Roy first day, Greed last day)
○ Coat
○ Binder that I just ordered today
So with that, I think I've finished with Roy.
For Greed I have:
○ Just finished styling the wig with lots of gel and some hairspray to finish it off
○ pants
○ boots
○ Binder
I still need:
• a black turtle neck shirt(and with that I need to cut the collar and put a white trim around the top of it),
•an ouroboros tattoo(if anyone knows a cheap place to get one or if they have them at K-con, that'd be great!)
•and I want to get coloured eye contacts. Purple for Greed and black/onyx for Roy. I need a perscription first though. x|

So it looks like I still have a lot of work with Greed to do. :D
No plans for 2013 due to always changing plans. ><

Went to Michael's today and got some stuff. I got the jewels I needed to finish up Uranus's sword, so that should be done tonight, the clay pieces of the guard are in the oven right now, and some material to make her tiara thing (still need the gem though, they didn't have any ovals in the right color).

I got a ball I can use as a base for Reborn's pacifier and some felt to make Leon with, and aside from that I just need some black slacks, a black jacket and hat, wig, and a red shirt. That's gonna be an easy cosplay, I can get most of that from Goodwill.

And I got a piece of wood to use as the handle for Ginji's sign, and an XL white t-shirt. This is gonna be another easy one. Why are all of my easy cosplays for Sakura-Con next year?

Plus we took the sewing machine in to get fixed and my mom said she'd take me to the fabric store soon, so I should be able to get started on Raikou and Uranus's costumes. I looked around online and found a wooden katana I can modify for Raikou, plus some hakama that weren't very expensive, because there is no way in hell I'm making those myself.

The only part I don't really have planned is wigs, but group orders were mentioned upthread, so I may try to get in on that.

MAYBE I WON'T BE RUSHING LAST-MINUTE TO FINISH THESE. THIS IS VERY GOOD. Hopefully I won't have a repeat of Sakura-Con's pre-con meltdown in September. :/ Plus it looks like I'll have time to do a fourth one.

Just got my pattern for Bianca in the mail yesterday, I can't wait to get started, I'll probably end up buying fabric in early June or so (when I'm not so swamped with all of this work.)

See, I didn't even see your statement and went "Yup, that's Panty alright." It's perfect for her! Great color, too.
