Panic panic panic XD Finally started my "Objection!" sign. It should be done tomorrow.

But....no matter ow long I stare across the room at my wig, it still keeps refusing to style itself. ;.; I'm growing concerned. Lol

Barret's waist=guard is sealed and rivets are in place. Tomorrow I paint it silver, but I'm going to have to get some black acrylic paint to touch it up with a weathered look. Anyone have tips on weathering, by the way? (adding a tarnished look to craft foam and props).

Well I just spent a few hours putting the edge on my sword and it is looking SEXY. still so much work to do though T_T

I use liquid shoe polish for weathering. It sounds odd but works great. I open up the container and brush it on liberally then a take a paper towel to wipe it up and kinda rub it around. It isn't the most detailed weathering but I love how fast it is. Just make sure you seal it after it dries or it has a kind of tacky feel.

I personally use a mix of black and dark green acrylic paint. I brush it on liberally (first in the cracks) and let it set up a bit, then wipe the excess away with a paper towel or two. Then to give the whole thing an extra bit of patina I pat the whole thing down with the paint-soaked paper towel. It leaves a little bit of transfer everywhere and makes metallic things actually look like metal.

ALSO! I've got two coats of fiberglass on everything except the guard of my Keyblade (that's only got one). I should be able to start detail work fairly soon. Everything is turning out so lovely * 3*~

bought my corest today, along with another petticoat. Tried all I have of my big cosplay on to find it needs some work...

But it feels nice to know the pieces are assembling now!

And nice hoopskirt : ) did you make it yourself?

Busted these badboys out tonight. Cut, filed, painted, and waiting to dry. Then I can put the arrows on tomorrow. I mean I could now but don't have the time.

Tomorrow, I will cut out the vest and hood(hopefully) and paint the giant grommets. Friday I'm buying contacts, body paint, and bracelets.

SO EXCITED FOR MEDUSA COSPLAY.

Color me impressed! I've always bought mine, but if I may offer one piece of advice?

If you can make sure the last hoop goes near to your feet, or at least goes to where the dress will end. Or else you get that weird over hang which looks a bit awkward in photos.

And btw Beatrice? My favorite troll ever. (I love her so much, I shall have to get pictures of you)

Drauska, you need to get some more pics up of your cross punisher. From what I saw it's much better than my first attempt.

Gonna start sealing it tonight.  Forgive the mess....I just moved here last week.   ::)

I really have to agree, Drauska. That is awesome work. It looks so massive, can't believe it's so light.

Also, on my cosplay progress, here is where I'm at right now for Barret. I just finished painting his waist-guard, and now I just have to go get some of those suggested tarnishing agents and this'll be nice and finished.

@Chihiro God I know your pain lets just hope me and you arn't walking through a door at the same time ><

Well this year I'm in the biggest dress I've ever worn, so even me getting through doors is going to be a challenge. But I opted for petticoats this year instead of hoops, so it's easier to squish them down.

Drauska: that looks one damn cool cross thing, I like it : )

I made progress! :D
I finally found the unreleased episode that Sailor V is featured in so I could get a better look at her anime outfit (cause I don't think I have enough fabric for the manga version) so now I can make the skirt, collar, and find the shoes.
And when my brother wakes up I will be finishing Umbreon and then I'll get pictures. XP
I'm trying to decide if I want to wear a unitard under it or not...so I'll see how it looks both ways.

Realized both my waist-guard and gun-arm look really sloppy with hot glue scarring up the seams, so I now have to go get sandpaper and file those areas down. Then I most likely will have to paint again.

Why can't I think ahead and avoid having to redo things?  >:(

Making decent progress. The MDF has been coated with fiberglass two to three times depending on the portion and the raised portions of the guard are mostly sculpted. I've got a lot of sanding in my future, but that's okay. I have two weeks to do it in.

Can't wait to paint this thing.

Also it comes apart at that pipe joint there, I still haven't epoxied the two together yet.

I didn't see anything planned for this year. Which is a shame, honestly, because I've always enjoyed the forum meet-up.

I whipped out the glue gun since my brother is still sleeping and I'm working on Sailor V's bows since I can make them all with fabric and glue. XP
I just finished her hair bow and I'm going to start on her chest bow! Then her glasses which get glued to the wire frame I made and her chest broach that needs to be 'cooked'.
