Ooooh. Then yeah, that doesn't sound like the best product. Hoping for the best, though.

it does give some things but mainly if you are casting something, not if you are putting layers on a finished product

Hmm. I wonder if you would just measure how many ounces of resin you are using total for your coats, and count the drops that way?

Again, forgive me if this is an asinine suggestion, lol

I don't know how many drops per oz I need though. Otherwise I would do it that way. No where on the container does it say you need 5 drops per oz or anything like that.

Oh, okay. Misread back there. Sorry about that.

Well, at least your paint going over the resin seems to take care of it.

@Dubaby: That mock-up does look considerably better, I'd say. It did seem like the front was more of a buckle than actual cloth in the picture reference, so I think making it out of something solid and hard like that will end up looking a lot better.

It was your comment about craft foam that actually got me thinking about using something other than fabric. I had some model magic lying around so I thought I'd test it. I'm going to stop by the store after work today and grab different types of foam, clay, and model magic and just spend tomorrow afternoon trying things out. Hopefully one of my plans will work!!! =]

Muahahahaha!!! I have a cage skirt! My hands hurt soooo bad from using the pliers-like tool on all those snaps! Hopefully by the end of today I will have a mostly completed skirt! I still need to do a little hand sewing on it to tack down the intersections, and I might or might not put boning on the back side to give it more shape (I used cotton belting, so it's kinda floppy). Here are pics:

This morning all pinned together:

And with all the snaps holding it together:

Line up:
-Kageyama (Haikyuu)
-Cordelia (Fire Emblem Awakening)
-Marauder Ashe (League of Legends)
-??? Who knows what else. Probably a cosplay I can wear my glasses with.

I'm trying to decide which side of the fabric to use for remaking my Luka dress...
Do I use the ribbed side or the flat side? :/
The flat side is 'shiny' in a way...

Edward Elric is now going to have a purse (sachel) so I can carry my wallet. No pockets in the costume I have. Hoping it won't look too bad.

I'm losing hope of actually being able to do Ox King this year. I cannot find a suitable hat for him, and really have no clue how to make a hat.

That aside, I am working on painting the pendant for my little sister's Mint from Tokyo Mew Mew. It's going well. Haven't done a ton today. Just painting it gold. The details I plan to add next week most likely (won't be able to do much this weekend as I am working).

I also still need to get Barret's vest made. That will happen at some point next week.

So sore today. So much work. XP But skirt is at about 98%. I just have to finish up the waistband, put in the zipper, and do top stitching. Also, I've never broken so many sewing needles on one project in my entire life. I don't know if it's my new pins, or the different needle brand I was using. Either way, super obnoxious. Also, I fit my corset bodice today and I have quite a bit of hand sewing ahead of me. XP Anywho, pics of skirt:

Yupppppp River Road one (explanation is not necessary but would be highly entertaining)

I cleaned them the hell out of blue organza it was the best trip ever because all these little old ladies thought I was making my own wedding dress and they were telling me the blue was wrong for my hair and it was amazingly funny because I just nodded and went along with it.

@Tanuki: Yup. I live a half block away from the UO Education school (very convenient since I am in the UOTeach program right now. lol).

@Richie: Lololololol. I didn't have quite the same experience when I bought all that pink material since it was a super busy day, but I'm sure my cutter was like, omg why is she getting all of this stuff in such large quantities??? XD (You know how you did that costume a few years ago where you were on stilts? Same year I did the chocobo racers. I still went out to the River Road Joann's mostly for my stuff, since I didn't realize the Mohawk one was closer lol, and I saw a pic of you in that costume on their little project bulletin board. Thus my suspicion. XDDD)

Crona (Soul Eater) progress:
Here's the wig and contacts together,

..and here's something I actually made myself. Aka the cuffs.

The dress is way too long to get a good picture of with my phone but that is all sewn as well. Only thing giving me trouble at this point is the godforsaken collar.

Kid is done! After my Soul and I thought we were going to have a photoshoot yesterday (it didn't end up happening anyways), I ended up rushing and hot gluing the squares on. ._. A little disappointed in myself bout that but~ We managed to get a few test shots before it got too dark. And I can always just sew them later. Gotta pick up some velcro to attach the middle squares to the other flap of the coat, then it's done. Not too happy about the finished product because of the sloppy rush but.. whatever. It happens. ;w;

SYMMETRY ;O; pff this picture

EDIT: That looks really good, paprika! Loving the cuffs..

I'm a bit miffed because my new blue contacts are really dark. So are my new purple ones. I'm glad I didn't pitch my old blue ones because I'm probably going to need them for Xion. My new ones are extremely comfortable, even the circle lenses. My keyblade is looking really nice though!

So I've got Maka's vest all but done, Kokonoe's ears just need the white fur. Her tail needs craft foam, felt and fur. Her pants needs the green trimming, as does her coat but in black and the sleeves need their decorations. Her bracelets also need to be finished. Izaya needs his fluff, and Lucy needs to shove it. X[ SO MUCH LEFT TO DO.

Plan on trying to bust out Lucy and the rest of Kokonoe so I can focus on the easier parts. Oh wait, Maka's wig. Shoot me now.
This is my life. These are my choices.

Half of my blades are almost done. Once the paint dries I will put the gloss on and then see if I can salvage the other sides. (resin leaked over and I am having a hard time sanding it. )
